History of speed has always fascinated mankind. Incredible vehicules were designed and built for that purpose since late XIXth century (and even before) till now.
It would be great to see them in bricks so ...What about a Earth speed record contest ?
3 categories (2 sub-categories each: real and imaginary):
- Land : cars, motorcycles and railed/magnetic vehicles
- Air: planes and helicopters (no pure gliders, no balloons)
- Sea: boats and hovercrafts (no submarines)
Only new stuff or deeply modified.
Clone parts and stickers allowed
No painting, nor glue nor cutting.
Imaginary or not yet built vehicles allowed (steam, electric, jet-powered, wheel driven, ...) as long as they respect the spirit of Earth speed record.
No guns even though military vehicles are allowed (must be disarmed).
Space rockets, missiles and spacecrafts aren't allowed (no x-15, no space shuttle)
No unmanned vehicles.
Any scale you want.
Figs and dios allowed.
No virtual creations.

The current absolute record holder for cars is the British-designed ThrustSSC, a twin turbofan-powered car which achieved 763 miles per hour (1,228 km/h) for the mile (1.6 km), breaking the sound barrier. I've chosen this vehicle.
