So, you Group B combatants have made it this far without a mark on you. But who's going to be left standing when the final group is announced, and who will be left crushed and bleeding in the dirt?

Wes Pitter
jason corlett
raphael heusser
Casey McCoy
Ethan M.

Your category has been imposed upon you by maliciously cackling Dennis Price, and it is...
"Corporate Raider"

Post a link to your entry in this thread by 11:59 pm, July 4th, or be disqualified.

Once that deadline passes, post your scores for your groupmates' entries in this thread by 11:59 pm, July 7th, or be disqualified.

This round, the two lowest-scoring players per group will be cut.

Further cuts to make a seven-player final round will be taken if necessary.

I hope they will be necessary. By which I mean, I hope there are no more disqualifications!

I can't believe I made it through the last round...

Time to rise from the ashes. I'm lovin' this category.

Hey, Casey, let's not build the same thing this time. ;-) Best of luck to everyone! Here we go again...

Hey, Casey, let's not build the same thing this time. ;-)

Yeah, no kidding! Hahahahaha. Another interesting category, but I'll think up of something. Best of luck to everyone!

It looks like my chances of getting an entry in on time are slim... Again! I honestly don't know how some of the AFOLs around here manage to go to work, care for their families AND still have time for Lego! Work has taken just about all of my building time lately...

Well...don't everyone post your scores too quickly! I guess I'll go first...

Legolord - 4 pts. The build look good, especially the starfighter. A bit more focus on the raiders in your building and story would have been good, though.

Wes Pitter - 5 pts. Great work putting Indiana Jones into an office. Some of the pictures were blurry, but you still earned a 5.

raphael heusser - 3 pts. The microscale buildings looked good, but you didn't seem to fully capture the job of a corporate raider.

Casey McCoy - 4.5 pts. You captured a feel of frozen action well with this and the shattered window is excellent. Nicely built.

jason corlett - 2.5 pts. I like the build and story, but fitting into the category seemed a bit of a stretch.
| July 6, 2010, 6:32 pm
I see that my description of a corporate raider wasnt that clear as it should be. So can I change them a little or have it to stay like this (at least 'till the next round) ???
| July 7, 2010, 8:26 am
Ethan M - 4.5 - Great build. Fits in with the category.

Legolord - 3.5 - It might no fit within the category as well as it could but that ship and hanger are fabulous!

Wes Pitter - 5 - Once again you've nailed the category!

Raphael Heusser - 3.5 - another one that doesn't quite fit the category but the build was solid.

Casey McCoy - 4 - The story was pretty funny and that shattered glass looks awesome.

Shannon, your killing me with these unique categories! They're making me use my brain too much! I'm supposed to be on summer vacation :)

| July 7, 2010, 1:48 pm
Alright, Group B, here we go!

LegoLord - 4 As I shared with you before, excellent build quality, but a bit static.

Raphael - 3.5 Solid build, but I think you could have done much more with this.

Casey McCoy - 4.5 My favorite out of the "literal corporate raiders" group. Humor, action, and interesting techniques put you on the top of that sub-group.

jason corlett - 5 Yes! I've been looking for a chance to give you a perfect score. Rushed though you may have been, you took a twisted category and gave it another turn. Nice job.

I'm very excited to get to the last round and see where things stand. Nice job, everyone!

Ethan M ->4

Legolord -> 3

Wes Pitter -> 5

jason corlett-> 4.5

Casey McCoy ->4.5

So I find myself here again, exploiting Shannon's system to the utmost extreme.
Ethan M.: Your Moc was great, and you gave me a fair amount of points, so I'm giving you 4.5 points.

Jason Corlett: Your moc was also good, but I'm giving you 3 points since you gave me 3.5.

Wes Pitter: You had an excellent build, I loved the graph and your take on the topic. You 4.6 points from me.

Raphael Heusser: Your build was great, but trying to fit it in to the category was a bit much, plus you gave me a 3, so I'm giving you 1.5. It's not that I don't like you, it's just that if I fall, I'm taking somebody with me.

Casey McCoy: Great build. I love it, I wish you would post your points before me, but I'm sick of waiting. You get a 4.1 from me.

Wes Pitter - For me, this was the best entry in the category. It had great photography, great build; and the Indiana Jones references were spot on. Plus, the sales going up and down technique was very cool. 5 points if not more. :)

Ethan M. - You had a great take on the category. You mixed a regular corporate raider with a actual violent/evil-ish/whatever-you-want-to-call-it type raider nicely. The MOC's design is very well done and printer is so cool! Nice job, 4.5.

LegoLord . - Once again, I felt like this MOC only half fit into the category. Lots of raider-ness, not enough corporate. Could have had a bit more tie-in to the category, but the build was so good it deserves a 3.5.

jason corlett - The build and minifigs were really good as well as how the MOC fits in the category, but the story was weak at times. Nice job though. 3.5 points.

raphael heusser - I'm not quite sure what people are saying how this "doesn't fit in to the category" because I think it fits in nicely. Microscale factories and such are well built, but it was lacking a little more "ummph" of some-kind. Good job, I'll give you 3 points.

It took way too long, but we've finally reached a point where the scores actually mean something.

With Cade already gone via DQ, we needed one more cut in this group, and here's how the scores break down:

Wes - 4.5 (you earned 5 but didn't judge Ethan's MOC, so a half point deduction)
Ethan - 4.5
Casey - 4.37
Jason - 3.83
LegoLord - 3.67
Raphael - 3.17

Raphael -- thanks for coming with us this far, but you won't be in that final group of seven.

Jason, Roberta (you'd forgotten I called you that, didn't you?) -- did you score enough points for you to move on? You'll just have to check in the Point Totals thread after I crunch all the numbers...

Quoting Shannon Young

Raphael -- thanks for coming with us this far, but you won't be in that final group of seven.

It was a great contest, and I had to build things which I never would build otherwise.
The categories were quit hard but very interesseting. I liked to come into the final round, but I have to say that those ,who are building in the last round, really deserved it.

btw. I wouldnt have had much time to build a big Moc for the Final. I'm going on holidays on monday. So I'm not that disappointed.

It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for organzing this Shannon. I haven't forgotten that nickname, but I only need remind you of a girl I met at camp 2 years ago named Shannon Young.

And besides, there's always the MOColympics in the fall. Last year I went to the elite eight, so maybe this year I'll go even farther.
