):-)

Take your time Patrick and if you dont have enough pieces only build one side ;).

I was going to build this myself but I didn't have anywhere near enough red or white. then I spotted (and fell in love with) the Alan Mann Fiat - luckily I had lots of blue technic and it suited a technic moc rather than traditional bricks.

Any way it is great to have you on board :). I will ask Malte to update the home page.

Good luck with the ship cant wait to see it

Talk soon

That's what my dad always tells me when I say that I'll have to make a Bricklink order. Hahaha

Hi everyone, thanks for your support on my latest :D. It really means a lot coming from you guys Ė some of the best car builders on the planet.

I hope my 49 has inspired people to build their own and join this team. Hint hint Mr Barrett and Senator ;).

Patrick Ė Donít worry about the transporter, Tomaso and would love to build it. I think we have the pieces between us. You are more than welcome to stay in the team to build a Lotus or one of the support vehicles. But dont feel any pressure.

Tomaso would you like to join?

Not this again.... I suppose I could spare enough bricks for an F1. (They were an F1 team, right? Behold my vast race team knowledge...=P ) I'm not sure what you want built for the team, but if you were to tell me and I were to agree then I'd like to build something. =)

Coolio, but there is no pressure. I asked you and Nick because we all have a similar style. Tom and I will investigate the cars but I think the team only ran 49s in the gold leaf colours. If so, then I would totally respect your decision not to build the same car as me. Talk soon buddy :D

From what I've seen on my not-so-vast searches they had the 49's with or without wings. I wouldn't mind building either version, though I'd be leaning toward the non-winged version lest it try to fly away or something. =P

Hahaha, the early versions did not have any wings or air vents, but some of the later versions had wings bolted over the rear wheel (like my main photo) and one at the same height over the front wheel too!!! Craziness, those early days of aerodynamics must have been great fun to be involved in. Nowadays it must be a huge challenge just to get a 1/10 th of a second advantage. I would be honoured if you joined the team :D

Thomas - I would be honoured if you decided to build for this team. The transporter can hold three cars. Let me know in this thread if you would like to join (but there is no pressure though). Patrick Star originally wanted to build the transporter but I donít think he can do it anymore, so DeTomaso and I are going to build it as a joint venture. Another Lotus 49 or a Lotus 72 in gold leaf colours would be perfect. Joe

I'd like to build one! Is there a car you'd prefer me to build?

Welcome Greg. The group's been quite inactive for a while but hopefully this will be seen by the team. Either way, thanks for joining : )

Yeah, I haven't checked out this group in a long while! Good memories. :-) This summer I plan on building a McLaren F1 1988; too "new" for the group, though.

I just fixed some of the broken pics on the group description.

I also just did an HTML backup. Man, it's so long now - I remember when this group first started out it was pretty short.

Hi Greg, sorry for the delay. I would be honoured to have you and your 72 on board. I am planning to build the transporter shortly as it looks like Patrick is not going to build it. Not sure how to add your photos and name to the team but hopefully Ape or Malte can do this for us. Joe
