So apparently, I'm a judge now, so I guess I'll do what judges do. Right then, down to business.

Concerning Legofreak's Boltran:

Boltran is an excellent MOC, and is very true to the original, concerning the details. There are some very well-greebled parts, but other sections are greebled to the point where the overall shape is diminished. I also don't really like the exposed back legs behind the HF armor. It's tricky to fix, but possible.

Considering Callan's Krizan:

Overall, a very good MOC. The Hero Factory armor gives him a sleek, refined look in most places, but, similarly to Boltran's legs, there are places that are left exposed. The creative license left Krizan not very true to the original, but overall still good.

Concerning Legofreak's Brawq: A complete disregard for the topic (as opposed to Callan's MOCs, which only slightly completely disregarded the topic), but still a great MOC. The torso and arms are nearly seamless, and the smooth HF and KK armor work very well together. The legs, on the other hand, are too messy in the back to go with the rest of the MOC.

Concerning Callan's Ossum:

While also not very true to the original, this MOC is amazing. It appears almost entirely custom, very well-proportioned, and the armor is nearly seamless.

While both builders delivered, my vote is to Callan, for producing the best overall single MOC that stood apart from the others: Ossum.

Seriously though, next time, define the categories a bit better. Honestly. ;)

Yeah, next time we really need to make clearer categories. Well, still one judge left, thanks for your thoughts Cody, and good luck to you, Legofreak!

Sorry if you didn't want this man.

Anyway my turn, overall you both made very cool entries, I enjoyed looking and in Callan's case seeing you build them :D Nicely done :D

Anyway judging time~
Overall I agree with Cody, maybe we could have make the topic and all that a bit more ironed out, anyway since the MOC's aren't very similar I think what I'll be judging is build, originality and creativity, the things I always judge, and in my opinion, are the things that make MOC's 'good' :D

BEGIN!

Legofreak~

Boltran:
Build: Very nice! I love how you've made him look! The bow looks brilliant and so does his torso! I also love his lower leg design! Nicely done ;) Maybe like Cody said adding armour on the back of the legs could look nice, but other then that, he looks great! 4/5
Originality: Sorry my friend but I really don't like how un-original he looks, I feel it would have been a lot cooler if you'd done a different take on him, maybe you could have changed his element or make his main weapon be a long sword of something? Anyway, I feel you could have done that better, sorry. Anyway, stuff that was original is the lower legs and the fire shurikens :D Other thing I like is the tailcoats :) 3/5
Creativity: Basically what I said above. Not too much (That's important) to add :) 3/5
Total: 10/15

Brawq:
Build: Loving the torso! But I'm not really sure what it is, but there's just something I don't like about it, I think maybe doing a bit more customness on him is the key, I think with a bit more it would seem a little less thrown together, not that it does though :) Anyway overall looking good :D 3/5
Originality: Not too much of a wow factor, but like I said above the torso is awesome :) 2/5
Creativity: Love how you've based him off a gorilla, very clever 4/5
Total: 9/15
Grand total: 19/30

Callan~
Gonna turn my comment on your post into a by 5 score and also change somethings with the new system I'm using due to the changes in judging

Krizan:
Build: Mask and hand designs looks great! I also love the general feel he's got. Anyway I feel, like Cody said a bit more work on the back could be nice, but other then that, not too much wrong with him :) 4/5
Creativity: Mask and hands are cool, also like the infectedness, But really, other then that, not much else is original (mostly build wise). 3/5
Originality: Really what I said above 3/5
Total: 10/15

Ossum:
Build: Mask and hand designs looks great! The customness on him is great too, and good to see you doing more of it. He poses well and looks very cool all over :D I do feel maybe the inside of his legs could use a little bit of armour, but other then that, he's great :D Also maybe a little more red? 4/5
Creativity: Head is awesome and nicely made! Torso's good too. 4/5
Originality: Love the boomerang, and not because I'm Australian, just because it's an original weapon and NPU, finger concept isn't too original but then again it's a little hard to be with fingers. 4/5
Total: 12/15
Grand total 22/30

Close but no cigar Legofreak, sorry, but Callan won. Nice work guys :)

I had fun, hope you did, after all, isn't that what this is all about? Anyway good luck with the future ;)

Somehow I couldn't help feeling the judges were a bit biased, but that's probably just me. :P
Congratulations Callan!
I think clarifying the categories next time would make for a better match. ;) Maybe we could do it again sometime.

Thanks for judging, Ben, Cody, and again, sorry for being a git earlier. I found your critiquing to be deep and overall helpful, I will definitely toy with my entries for their future uses in my stories. As I said on your entry, Legofreak, I feel we both won even though one of us was chosen over the other, and I wish you good luck with your stories and your future mocs! Glad to have been a part of this with ya!

I have to say I was disappointed by the results of this competition, not in the builders but in the judging. I felt that although Ossum was great, Krizan was rather lacking, whereas legofreak's mocs didn't lack much in my opinion. I don't think you should base the score on Brawq completely on the fact that he isn't very custom, because if you can seamlessly fit together that many large parts to make a well-shaped moc, in metal gray of all colors, I couldn't care less about customness. I hope I don't sound like a git now, it's just my honest opinion :) Congratulations Callan on the win, it was certainly one of the best moc-offs I've witnessed, (on both your parts) and is surely a very credible win for you!

Congrats Callan! This was a fun MOC-OFF.

Remind me to never challenge any of you two (Or Ben, Cody, etc.. :P) to a MOC-OFF XD

Thank you, Steve, I have to say I wouldn't have liked judging this MocOff if I were the judge. I agree with you on some of what you said, although I don't think Krizan was lacking that much besides customness... But thanks for your input and I'm sorry you were disappointed with the results.

I didn't mean that Krizan wasn't good, I liked him a lot as well, I just think that the other three mocs in the competition outshined it, simply because the other three were so good. It's really only lacking in comparison :)

Somehow I couldn't help feeling the judges were a bit biased,.

Being 100% honest with you, I was not biased at all. Sure Cody and myself are good friends with Callan, but I'm (and I speak for both of us, I'm sure) would never give someone a better score because of this. I do see that Brawq could have maybe got a bit of a higher score, but in my opinion, I feel if he was more custom, he would have had a better overall look. I love it when people make non customness look good, and Legofreak did, in some ways. I just feel the MOC would have looked better with a bit more customness. Please don't think this was biased my friend. I would never do that.

Steve, The way I was judging was on Creativity, Originality and Build, the three things I think make a MOC awesome. In my opinion I feel Legofreak's entries didn't have as much of a Wow factor as Callan's did. Legofreak, I feel needed to be a bit more creative with Boltran, and make it look a lot less like Callan's version, because to be honest, it takes a lot more skill to make your own MOC, then to copy parts of someone elses. With Brawq, I do agree with you that customness isn't always everything, but I feel if the MOC was custom, it would aid the overall look.
I do agree that Krizan maybe could have looked a lot better. And I feel that was reflected in his score.
If I did change Legofreaks score with what your saying then the two MOC's would either be tied or one or two points under Callan.

I'm sorry if both of you still feel the judging was biased or not done right. I presented the results to Lord Oblivion and he agrees the results were done ok, I hope you don't have any feeling of hate after what I'd said and done.

Well, you might be able to get revenge on me, at least. I nominated you to MG to judge MG and my MOC-off. If he agrees with my nominations, I'd be honored if you would judge. :)

Oh no no, I never helped him with building it, he just showed me it, and I said nothing. Believe me I wouldn't give him an upper hand like that.
