How do you guys organize your parts? By color? By type, or by category ( armor, technic, mask etc. ) I need help as my parts are not organized and it has now to come to the point where it is frustratingly hard to find Bionicle parts.

I used to have just a big bucket of parts, but I'm starting to organize. I separate by category.

Don't, just don't sort by color, it's really not too helpful, even though it looks cool.

I used to sort my pieces by color, but now I do so by function.

Here's how I sort some of my System parts:
Slopes
Curved Slopes
Plates
Large Plates
Windows/Doors/etc.
Vehicular Parts
Greebles (:3)
Various Minifigure Parts/Accesories
Greenery
Clip Hinges
Hinges
Snap Hinges
Spikes

Bionicle, much easier to sort:
Ball joints
---- Parts with only ball joints on them.
Ball sockets
---- Parts with only ball sockets on them.
Ball joints & sockets
---- Parts with both ball joints and sockets. (i.e. Hero Factory Joints)
Masks/Heads
Armor/Weapons

Technic:
Pins/Axles
Beams/Liftarms
Gears
