Welcome to round 4! The round we've dubbed "The “Movie scene” round.
Below you will find your matchups and categories.
Dates: Round 3 starts NOW and will end at 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 27th.
Your entry must be titled: MocOlympics (may be shortened to MO) round 4 "you" vs "Your opponent." You may title it anything you wish after that but that must be the opening of the title.
Near the TOP of the entry you must state what category you are playing in. For this round you may simply put “Movie Scene Round,” the three movie choices you were given and which you chose.
This round is unique in that EVERY entry will ONLY have ONE build. No stories or multiple builds this round. See the description below for full details on why.
Preferably somewhere near the top of your post, you MUST have a WORKING link to your opponent’s page. If you post first then linking to their homepage is fine. If you post second, please link to their entry. You do not HAVE to change the link to their entry after they post (if you post first) but feel free to do so if you wish, that is your choice. You do NOT have to have a working link back to the main MocOlympics group. You’re free to add it if you wish but it is NOT required.
You must add your entry to the group pool. Once you add it to the group, that's it, it's OURS and NO changes may be made. If you make a change and we find out about it, you will be disqualified and your opponent will advance to the next round. We STRONGLY suggest that you get feedback from others and make any needed changes BEFORE adding it to the group. The judges will NOT look at it until it's added to the group.
Once you and your opponent have posted and added your entries to the group, the judges will vote on the mocs. There will be three judges for each matchup (divided by the brackets). You must receive 2 out of 3 votes to advance to the next round. The judges are NOT required to write full, detailed comments with their votes (but may if they choose to). The only thing required by a judge is which moc they are voting for. Each judge’s decision is final.
Your judges are:
Brackets 1 and 2: Mr. Xenomurphy, David Alexander Smith, LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist
Brackets 3 and 4: Chris Phipson, Ian Spacek, Annie Corder
As usual, please post any questions in the "Question" thread as we can't promise we'll see it here amongst all the chatter.
For this round, every matchup will have the same category but different sub categories. Here's how it will work. We have given each matchup 3 movies to choose from. You must choose one of the movies given to you and build a scene from one of those films. And just to clarify, it MUST be from one of those films directly. If you have "Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope" you may NOT build anything from ANY of the other films, comics or TV shows from the Star Wars Universe. ONLY the one movie you are choosing from the three given. If possible (not required) please provide a link to or a screen shot of the scene in question so we can compare.
Here are your matchups! Good luck everyone!

My comment from earlier seems to be stuck in moderation (probably because I quoted a line from one of the films). Love the themed round, inevitably wish I had some of the other match-up's films (Running Man, Starship Troopers)but i am pleased with our options. Got to get a copy of Total Recall though, but it's Blade Runner tonight for my viewing pleasure. Permalink
NO LOTR!? ;). Thanks for giving me two awesome movies to choose between. I think I'm going to go Chronicles of Narnia 'cause I only have one SW set. Best of luck to you Simon! It's an honour to compete against you! Permalink
Quoting Stormbringer .
Probably not. Even though I have three movies to choose from, I feel that there's a lack of originality. I was just wanting to try something different and creative, instead of building one solid scene from any of the three categories.
Creativity is my business.

Quoting David .
Darn Java uploads and wing technicalities. There are some plain spots, but please understand. :) THANK YOU FOR GRACE TIME!
I'd almost forgotten to lock the group, so lucky for you there were a couple minutes extra grace in addition to the normal grace period. That said, your entry was in before I locked the group, so you're through by a very narrow margin! Permalink
I've just got to say well done to all my fellow R4 builders because there are such varied builds in there but the standard is great. I will go around and leave individual comments but I felt it needed saying here that this round has brought out some excellent efforts from everyone and I am proud to be in such talented company.
Well done too, to the judge(s) who dreamed this themed round up, great idea.

And, as always, here are the final results. As and old movie buff, I've enjoyed this round in particular. It was nice to see so many memorable scenes immortalized in equally memorable MOCs. Thanks, guys.
Just want to say that this round was awesome with the many great MOCs. I have been browsing them on my iPod over the last few days, and I hope to get to my computer sometime soon so I can delve further into (and comment on) the MOCs you guys made. I'm looking forward to the builds that will be presented in round 5! Permalink
Well, it was a good run. :) I'm really glad I got this far, however plain my builds from after round three were. I look forward to the nextt rounds, there are some more amazing builds to be built! :D Permalink
Impressive show there David! You should be proud of your work here. I'm glad you took the opportunity to range out a bit and try building in genres that you wouldn't have tried before. You have shown a tremendous amount of potential that I for one am looking forward to you exploring. Great job, congratulations, and good luck! Permalink
