Welcome to Round 2 of the Middle Earth Lego Olympics! (Please make sure to keep the contest rules in your mind:)

http://www.moc-pages.com/group_conversation.php?id=25974&topicid=105762

Certain rules change and alter between Round 1 and the elimination rounds, so it's important to note the differences. Also, please carefully read all of the following before asking any potential questions:

Round 2 ends at 11:59pm MOCpages time on 6/6/17. (Because of the delay we added 2 more days to build)

The theme for this round’s categories is places and regions from Middle-Earth. We didn't choose specific locations, because we wanted to leave you as much artistic freedom as possible. How do you imagine life in your given region? Is it peaceful, mysterious or even dangerous? Maybe you want to show us the people who live in your place/region? Or maybe you have an interesting landscape or strange creatures for the less known places of Tolkien's world in your mind. Some of the chosen regions may not be well known by most of you, so don't hesitate to ask the judges your questions (this shouldn't replace your own research though, since the internet is full of written information and pictures that may insire you for your category) Can't wait to see your interpretations of this round. Good luck!

Required for all Round 2 entries:

-Title your entry: MELO Round 2: [your name] vs. [your opponent’s name]

-State your bracket (Barad Dur or Orthanc) FIRST THING in the intro box. As there are two sets of judges, this immediately informs them if you’re in their bracket or not. It’s a courtesy!

-Provide a WORKING link to your opponent’s homepage or entry (depending on which of you posts first), placed preferably near the top of your entry’s page. You can also include a link to the MELO homepage if you’d like (appreciated, but not required).

-State you’re category, preferably near the top of your page.

Now, Let Round Two Begin!

Here are your brackets:

Dunland is the land of the Dunlendings who are wild, less civilized people. (Think of people from the younger Stone Age)
Here's an LOTR wiki article about them:
http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Dunland

Not much is known about Dunland, so most of it will be open to your own imagionation. For further inspiration: The game Lord of the Rings online has a very interesting interpretation of that region in my opinion.

If it helps, I think (but don't quote me) that the Dunlenders/Dunland were inspired by the nomadic Kievan Rus people. So the landscape would be kind of like rolling hills, steppe country. Maybe look at some pictures of Ukraine and the area around the Volga River?

In the Online game the Dunlendings have very simple looking thatch houses, they have some kind of highland cattle and are people that wear fur clothes and have paint and tattoos on their skin. The landscape in that region is wild and unexplored, there are many hills, hill pastures and mountains.

Well, seeings as I was eliminated in Round 2, as usual, I'd like to give some comments on the whole: firstly, I'd like to complement the judges of the Orthank Bracket (I don't know how the judges of the other bracket did) for giving us their votes so soon. Secondly, I'd like to thank all the contestants for their hard work and their cordial attitudes. Finally, I would like to say that while I am no longer a contestant, I will still participate by commenting on all the Round 2 MOCs and on all the MOCs to come. Look for my comments on your MOCpages post or your Flickr pictures (as I've said before, I'm known as Sir Merek on Flickr).
