Welcome to Round 3 of the Middle Earth Lego Olympics! (Please make sure to keep the contest rules in your mind:)

http://www.moc-pages.com/group_conversation.php?id=25974&topicid=105762

Certain rules change and alter between Round 1 and the elimination rounds, so it's important to note the differences. Also, please carefully read all of the following before asking any potential questions:

Round 3 ends at 11:59pm MOCpages time on 18/06/17.

The theme for this round’s categories is places and regions from Middle-Earth. We didn't choose specific locations, because we wanted to leave you as much artistic freedom as possible. How do you imagine life in your given region? Is it peaceful, mysterious or even dangerous? Maybe you want to show us the people who live in your place/region? Or maybe you have an interesting landscape or strange creatures for the less known places of Tolkien's world in your mind. Some of the chosen regions may not be well known by most of you, so don't hesitate to ask the judges your questions (this shouldn't replace your own research though, since the internet is full of written information and pictures that may insire you for your category) Can't wait to see your interpretations of this round. Good luck!

Required for all Round 3 entries:

-Title your entry: MELO Round 3: [your name] vs. [your opponent’s name]

-State your bracket (Barad Dur or Orthanc) FIRST THING in the intro box. As there are two sets of judges, this immediately informs them if you’re in their bracket or not. It’s a courtesy!

-Provide a WORKING link to your opponent’s homepage or entry (depending on which of you posts first), placed preferably near the top of your entry’s page. You can also include a link to the MELO homepage if you’d like (appreciated, but not required).

-State you’re category, preferably near the top of your page.

Now, Let Round Three Begin!

Here are your brackets:

Barad Dur Bracket:
Your judges are Mark Murphy, Elio Salsano and Jonathan Demers. The judges are not required to publicly provide reasons for their votes.

Mark McPeek vs The Grey Man
The Eagle’s Eyries

Ed Rekishi vs Mr. Unknown
Fangorn forest

Caleb Walker vs Choco Taco
Dale

John Snyder vs Snappin Bricks
Amon Hen

Orthanc Bracket:
Your judges are Michael Kringe, Brick Ninja and City Creator. The judges are not required to publicly provide reasons for their votes.

Hugo Teixeira vs Joel Tyler
The Trollshaws

Classical Bricks vs Roanoke Handybuck
Ithilien

Oliver Becker vs Mountain Hobbit
The Barrow-downs

Carter Witzenburg vs ST M.
Erebor

Good luck everybody and happy building! You have 10 full days, make good use of them!

~Jonathan Demers (Above text written by Elio Salsano, I just copy/pasted it here. Many thanks to him for typing that all out!)

There we go, a bit less confusing.

Here we go! Good luck Caleb!

Ummm, wow.
I feel like I've done an Erebor before...
Hmmm, not sure what part to do now

Jon, the end date is wrong. It should be the 18th to make the round ten days long.

Wouldn't say I'm exactly "excited" about this category, but nonetheless, good luck, Ed! - I do pity you, probably having to build yet another tree!

You're right. Not sure how that happened, but I'll change it now!

I guess Elio just added 14 days to Round 2's end date without thinking.

Did he? Hold on a second!

Michael wrote "your opponent has my vote" on both builds. However, on our scorekeeping Excel sheet, he actually gave his vote to you.

I'm sorry for the confusion. You definitely got my vote! As City Creator said above, I accidentally wrote "your opponent has my vote" on both entries. Sorry again.

Me as well. Tough category.

I am thoroughly confused and frustrated. The third judge in my brother and my bracket (Jonathan Demers) did not comment on our creations saying who he gave his vote to. How come we weren't straight up told? It's irritating and irresponsible of you guys.

Hi miss Socks,
He voted behind the screen. But I agree that he should have left his vote in the comment of a build. He did vote for your brother in your case. In the first round, we gave points on an excellsheet. We did that as well in the second round. But I think we should al leave a comment at both builds. I'll point it out in the judge's lounge.

Soccer Socks,

I'm sorry you feel that way. I'll do my best to comment on all the round 3 builds tonight, starting with yours and your brothers. Again, my apologies, it won't happen again!

Again I'm super short on time. Had a Fan Weekend to attend and now I need to work.
I have a few ideas but I just needed some extra time to do them...

Again, sorry about the terrible lighting judges, it is nighttime here, and I had to use a lamp, along with the fact that the pictures make the build look terrible... :/ Anyways, good luck Classical! :D
