Welcome to Round 5 of the Middle Earth Lego Olympics! (Please make sure to keep the contest rules in your mind:)

http://www.moc-pages.com/group_conversation.php?id=25974&topicid=105762

Certain rules change and alter between Round 1 and the elimination rounds, so it's important to note the differences. Also, please carefully read all of the following before asking any potential questions:

Round 5 ends at 11:59pm MOCpages time on 17/07/17.

The theme for this round’s categories is places and regions from Middle-Earth. We didn't choose specific locations, because we wanted to leave you as much artistic freedom as possible. How do you imagine life in your given region? Is it peaceful, mysterious or even dangerous? Maybe you want to show us the people who live in your place/region? Or maybe you have an interesting landscape or strange creatures for the less known places of Tolkien's world in your mind. Some of the chosen regions may not be well known by most of you, so don't hesitate to ask the judges your questions (this shouldn't replace your own research though, since the internet is full of written information and pictures that may insire you for your category) Can't wait to see your interpretations of this round. Good luck!

Required for all Round 5 entries:

-Title your entry: MELO Round 5: [your name] vs. [your opponent’s name]

-State your bracket (Barad Dur or Orthanc) FIRST THING in the intro box. As there are two sets of judges, this immediately informs them if you’re in their bracket or not. It’s a courtesy!

-Provide a WORKING link to your opponent’s homepage or entry (depending on which of you posts first), placed preferably near the top of your entry’s page. You can also include a link to the MELO homepage if you’d like (appreciated, but not required).

-State you’re category, preferably near the top of your page.

Now, Let Round Five Begin!

Here are your brackets:

Barad Dur Bracket:
Your judges are Mark Murphy, Elio Salsano and Jonathan Demers. The judges are not required to publicly provide reasons for their votes.

Mr. Unknown vs John Snyder

Category: Valinor

Orthanc Bracket:
Your judges are Michael Kringe, Brick Ninja and City Creator. The judges are not required to publicly provide reasons for their votes.

Classical Bricks vs Carter Witzenburg

Category: Numenor

Good luck everybody and happy building! You have 10 full days, make good use of them!

Interesting categories, but are Numenor and Valinor part of Middle Earth?

Awesome categories! Unfortunately I will only have 2 days to build... Good luck Carter! (Though I doubt you'll need it)

Well, I'm gonna have to work a lot in the ten days. So I guess we'll see how this goes. Good luck!

Hey everyone, sorry I didn't come in sooner for round four. I'll still go vote even though the outcome is decided. Thanks for your patience.

Haha, yes I get the irony. :D
No they're both not and it's called "Middle-Earth Lego Olympics", but they are part of the same world created by Tolkien. :D

Why was this round 11 days? A typo?

When is Round 6 going to start and end? I leave for camp on July 30th and would like to have as much time as possible to build for the last round :)

Hi, Classical!

Congratulations for reaching the Finals!

We will post it tomorrow, after we have chosen the judge to post the final round.

It will last 10 full days again, meaning the rest of tomorrow +10 days which would mean that it would end on July 29th.

Haha, looks like the deadline will be on my birthday! :D I'm really surprised that I have made it this far, and can't wait for the final category! Thanks to all the judges for making this happen :)
