Prize Donators for Contest
Join to comment
Dear fellow Moccers,

I am part of a team of judges who are planning to bring back one of MOCpages largest and most successful contests in April.

I hope this doesn't sound like like begging on the street or cheap advertising :P, but the planning is 95% done now, the only thing we still need are some generous lego (set) prize donators.

In the last years we always found some people to donate 4 prizes (1 main prize for the first place and 3 smaller prizes for place 2-4). The difficulty this year is that we try to keep things secret until the contest starts, but because the contest still isn't open for public yet, we need to find options for potential donators.

Do you guys have any ideas what to do now or know where else I could ask this question? Or do you even know a person or MOCpages legend who may be willing to support the contest with a prize? The other possible option that comes to my mind would be to make the contest public first and then create a thread for donations, so that people who are interested in being a donator can sign in.

Thanks for your advice and for reading through this long post! :D

I don't know how to help you, but I want to let you know that this is about getting help for problems with the site, not getting help for a contest. This was a strategic move since just about everyone is on MOCpages Help, but the moderators won't be too happy about you putting out a call in this group.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood the main idea of this group, but I always thought it was about helping people and helping the community, not only technical problems. I also don't see a problem in asking for some help for popular and established contests on the pages. I always try to think positive, but less people who are willing to help will in the end lead to less contests and less to offer for all MOCpages users. I will be happy, if we would get some advice, but if not and if I additionally broke the rules with this request, I apologize and it won't happen again.

Thanks for the assist there McLego, yep the group is not here to advertise competitions, even official ones. Requests for prizes would be considered spamming.

As you were unaware no harm done, but next time I'll have to ask one of the admins to take action.
