Welcome to the final round of the 2017 Lego Castle Building Techniques Contest! Congratulations to the 8 remaining participants:
Reese Hawthorne
Mountain Hobbit
Micah Beideman
gid617 (Kai NRG)
Joel Tyer
Garmadon Robert4168
The Maestro ~
Doug Hughes

Before we get to the categories, please take some time to review the rules: http://moc-pages.com/group_conversation.php?id=26038&topicid=105730
Please format the title of your entry like this:
LCBTC Round 3: [Insert Title Here] or LCBTC R3: [Insert Title Here]
Please include in your description:
1. Your category
2. A working HTML link to this group
You will have 3 weeks to build for this round. The deadline is June 20th 2017, at 11:59 pm eastern time. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
You may edit your text or tweak your builds until the deadline. You may not edit your entry after the deadline, unless you have special permission from a judge.
Round 3 is a free-for-all round like Round 1. The judges will score each entry from 1-10, and then all the scores will be added, for a total out of 50. The top 3 scoring participants will receive prizes!
Now for the match-ups and categories!

Castle with a Function:
Functional castle builds are rare, and for good reason - they tend to be challenging. Build a medieval castle that includes a function. Ideas include collapsing walls, working catapults, a working gatehouse and drawbridge, and so on. The more creative and functional, the better! The requirements are that you build at least some part of a castle, and of course add some awesome functions! Be sure to include a video of the functions in action!

Fantasy Castle:
Build a unique fantasy castle! Include architectural features not often found in real castles, as well as interesting colorschemes. Possible ideas include cantilevered towers, tower bridges, and floating rocks.

Have fun building, and good luck to the contestants!

Indeed, perfect for squeezing in an entry for both our Summer Joust collab and this contest. :P

Ok, just some last minute precautions incase I am unable to finish one by the dead line:
I assume microscale is allowed? Don't really want to but might have to :p
And:
Could we just build part of a castle? Sorry for the bother.

Yes, you can build in any scale you wish. And yes, you can just build just part of a castle for either category.

Haha - well, I definitely mean to try out the function one first, I always wanted to try that sort of stuff out. After I totally fail there I might switch to the other one, though, XD

Hi there,
I'm not a contestant in this game. But as a former contestant in former contests, I can say that it is not fun to wait for the results for so long. So judges, hurry up!

We're currently waiting on one judge. If he doesn't respond soon, we'll post the sum of the other four judges' scores.
