Couldn't size be a judging factor in a diorama?
While what you have posted might be attributing factors in a judge's decision, there is no such list. Personally, I think if you can build something small that is effective, meets the category requirements, and is asthetically pleasing, than it's totally plausible that you could beat an opposing entry that is larger. It all comes down to build quality. As far as the benefits of building large or small, the choice is completely yours. As long as you build to the category and follow the rules, the only thing you have to fear is your opponent.

One more thing, a gunboat is an aircraft that has been "modified" to serve as a gunship. Otherwise it is just an attack ship.
What floats your boat....Or gunboat in this situation. Permalink

Reconnaissance vessel is essentially a "small" ship? Mini-scale?
When I think Recon vessel I think small ship, but that doesn't mean you have to. Whatever scale you use is completely up to you. If you have an idea that you think will wow and surprise the judges, and garner that extra vote, then I'd say go for it. Permalink

An APC?... Again??? Ive already made like 4 for this group alone... alright, I spose that gives me some experience in the field then...
You could do something out of the box, maybe like a walker APC or something of the like. Armored Personnel Carrier is a pretty broad term, a tank bus shouldn't be the only thing that can be labeled as an APC. Permalink
If your opponent hasn't posted yet, then you can still enter. Your opponent gets 24 hours to post after you have (unless you posted on Friday, then your opponent is dq'd). We might have a 'late' bracket for those who couldn't post, and they may be eligible for second place. I'm still discussing details with the judges, so keep checking back for updates. Permalink
Ced and I have decided that there will be a late bracket for those who can't get their entries in anytime soon. The winner of the late bracket will go against the second place competitor in the winner's bracket for a shot at the second prize. Who here still intends to post as soon as they can but hasn't yet? Just on that note about posting, why are there only like three entries on the NEOS homepage? Are people just being slack and not bothering to paste it In the group or is everyone just running really late? I wish we could hurry up a bit, I want to know if I've moved to the next round or not so I can either return to regular building or start work on my next entry, not to mention that the computers dead and building is the only thing I can be bothered doing right now, god typing on iPods is annoying D:< Permalink
Would it be possible for the people who can post within the next 2-3 days to post their moc against their opponent, but if the late poster wins, both move on, if the on time poster wins then the on time poster moves on. Permalink
It's in the rules, which are visible when you add your creations to the group. Anyway, the four people who have entered on time will advance to the next round, but will have new opponents. Look back here today for matchups, you will have until next Monday to build. Permalink
