USS Montana Vs. Super Yamato

I would think that the difference in size of the battleships guns wouldnt come to affect the battle much, since in real life the American fighters and bombers demolished Yamato and Musashi. So I think the best thing would be to simply track Yamato and stay out of gun range and let fighters do their job. Would the smaller gun size allow for a faster reload? because if you could land two 16 inch shells on Yamato for every one 20 inch shell they hit you with, you would really be able to pummel them.

bringing what i said earlier into this again, the reloadtime for the guns on iowa/montana had massively better reload times and could land more damage to Yamato quicker than the Yamato could do to the American fleet. Also as weve learned from history putting Yamato against a more modern battleship AND asking it to use alot of arms dealing with 250 american bombers will result in Yamato loosing. Badly.

Seems super Yamato wanst much better than the first one though, its a lot slower. And Iowa or montana could run rings around one.

All in all, If Montana faced Super Yamato, Who ever wins depends on the range of each ship because Montana has an extreme range and has 3 more 16 inch guns than Iowa. Since Super Yamato has such thick armor, Montana would have to target something more weak such as the magazine or feul storage to take out Super Yamato in time before Japanese forces showed up.

my opinion is the montana would win,it has the speed advantage(choose to fight or run)the yamato could not,it has the range advantage and better firing at longer range quicker reloading i think too,the armour belt not that important wipe out the firing control the ship pretty much useless, yamato certainly looks better, really down to airpower and skilled seamen, and luck.japan did not have enough aircover for their ships,
