Darn! If I had posted a comment yesterday i could have had first say!! Oh well, when life gives you lemons... Risen, what a fantastic title idea. Hm... Story lines... For Starters: You could A: insert a completely new demi-main character into the story and tell about his life in the Eastern area that is unexplored, and about his eventual journey into the Legacies area; or B: Continue where you left off in Severed Part 22. The first comic would involve the immediate need to protect the leader of the New Alliance, and a good old fight between Jin Tak and Ache that reminds one of something that Mel Gibson might do in say, Lethal Weapon? Or Maybe a more Akiro Kurosawa approach to the battle, meaning much more dialogue and storyline/ plotty-ness as you say. The next chapters would be about the continued fight between JinTak and Ache if neither are killed in the first comic, or else trying to find who sent Jin Tak do kill the leader of the New Alliance. Ah, Ten minute timer is going off. Well, that's it for now... Master Emerald Phoenix

I'm not so sure about Risen...
It does sound cool and it fits with the rest of the names, but it doesn't really have a meaning, like Severed. Unless your talking about how Orange Face has 'Risen'...

But you could have said the same thing about Severed at first, right? Risen does have a meaning... you'll just have to wait and see. I'm trying to put together the full plot still, but I have some key scenes I know I want to include, one of which will give the story its name.

Well, it will continue where the last two left off. The first two series happen at the same time, then merge into one story for the third part. There will obviously be a fight between Jin'Tak and Ache. The story is still being peiced together. I'll post something sometime within a month for sure.

Great!! Take your time though, it continues suspense and allows you to make the opening episode really good! If I might make one suggestion: If you haven't watched the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (Chinese foreign movie w/ subtitles), do so before you begin pics for the Jin Tak vs. Ache fight/s. It's an incredible martial arts movie that involves all sorts of wall running, roof jumping, flipping in the air and then back flipping while still in flight, and many other awesome fight sequences. (If you can see a DVD version, look at the Teahouse Fight more than once). Also, my Moc is being pushed back on its deadline. "Deadlines? Oh yeah, I love deadlines. I love the sound they make as they go swooshing past."-Mr. Powell (Julie and Julia) I am presently waiting for a Lego transaction to pul through that will land me with a lot more castle style pieces, and, hopefully, a few medieval style doors. Oi!! Let the man think here! If Nufalak wants the title to be Risen, then let it be so. I personally like the idea of Risen as a title, but that is getting personal belief in the way of things. While everyone is so busy about the title of a work, why don't you go help Nufalak on ideas on how to SAVE PIECES, still make GREAT SETS, and create and AWESOME third season to his series. ( I am referring to the construction conversation.) Also, I wish to say that you (Nufalak) are making a great deal of suspicious suspence in regards to a one word title. Perhaps to be Risen is a term for one who is brought back from a state like that of a troll, or to return from the form of severed, or an even nasty version of the severed/orangey's. Just plotty-ness as you say. MEP

May I suggest ARMA? It is a online Western European Medieval Martial art society that has lots of online manuals to medieval fighting styles. Another thing of interest might be to see if your local Library has the book SECRETS OF THE SAMURAI by O. Ratti and A. Adlebrook. It's a great comprehensive beginning book on the Samurai culture (all 400+ pgs of it), and haas many valuable pics. if you wish to use a more Eastern (as in Japanese) fighting style. MEP

The Japanese fighting style is interesting, but you also have to think about what weapons your characters are using. In the Medieval Ages (1200's and before) the swords would be so heavy, that the fighting style would consist of who could hit faster and more. Fencing didn't evolve until swords got lighter, like the 1400's onwards.

I agree on the Sabers and rapiers, but a citation please for the heavy and brutal hacks of the middle ages. (I want to learn. It is good for one to brush up on their history.) MEP

What do you mean the series is coming to a close? You mean all of Mythada? I still have a ways to go in Risen, and I might do a few mini prequel backstories. As for the book, yes, I am going to make all thre of them into books. I only have the prologue and chapter one finished right now, so if anyone else wants to see it, just tell me your emails and Ill send it.

Hey guys, sorry for the long wait for chapter 7 (havent even started), but Ive been pretty busy lately. However, now that its fall break, I have a bit more free time. Chapter 7 will be up sometime in the following days. Also, just as an update on the behind the scenes, Im writing out an actual plotline as I type this. (Music always helps get rid of writers block) In truth, I only had things planned up to chapter 5 when I started making Risen... but now I have a plot. And trust me, it is going to be much bigger than the previous two series. Hope that starts some enthusiasm or conversation. Thank you everyone for your patience.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!! You have fall break already? I am only in the fifth week of school. Yes you are so right!! Music DOES get rid of writer's block! May I suggest anything by Carl Jenkins, but especially his Adiemus Songs of Sanctuary and The Eternal Knot. You can buy both on iTunes, or at a CD store. I think Cu Chullain might be a good track for the Grimalkin/Vixen battles personally (Eternal knot), and the Adiemus theme from 198_ would be a good mind shocker to send one into story land (songs of sanctuary.) Another genre I have found helpful is Japanese flute music. Hope that wasn't to much info. Hope to see more of your work in both Lego and writing. MEP

We're all here if you need construction help (I highly doubt it though). Just a quick tip: think SNOT. It's the only way I've ever built a decent glacier, not saying there aren't others of course. MEP

Actually, I just finished it :P I needed a pathway between two major portions of the glacier, which I was able to make. It took a while, but when I put my mind to it, its finished.

Is it just me, or am I the only one thinking about a female character here? Yeah, yeah, I know... There was the archer in Legacies, but I mean someone of more relational status. That's what makes a blockbuster: Protagonist, antagonist, possible other for protagonist, large fight scenes when the antagonist captures Other and makes Protagonist fight for Other. Just a simple layout for the average Hollywood smash-hit. It's a possibility for the book, but I don't see how one would convey that in Lego, especially just pictures. :op Well, aside from that. I might suggest having Ache find the Brotherhood, meet its members (like you just did in #7), and try to help, but not join. He still has fealty to Irrek and can't just meander from cause to cause. What I'm trying to say is this: Jin Tak eventually comes out of his controlled stupor, and goes off to have big boss fight. No success, Jin Tak almost dies but is healed by the Risen (which I am guessing are probably the omnipotent version of a Guardian), and goes back for more, this time with Ache at his side. The Orangey meanwhile beings to summon from the new portal in the desert and creates a new army of Necrom. They invade the new Grand Alliance, and try to take over the country. The men are hard pressed for victory, but they somehow manage to drive back the hordes long enough to get the women and children away from the cities and into the forests, hidden. The men are almost completely slaughtered, but Irrek, Jin Tak and Ache manage to survive and defeat the Orangey. In the final blow, Irrek repeats what his father did, having found that he to had magic running through his veins, and sacrifices his life for the kingdom. Jin Tak and Ache survive, and go on to lead the people to safety and peace. Hope that wasn't to much info, and I do like your story very much! MEP

Not sure, how much time is gone between Irrek and Ache left Mirrum, but i also think, that the alchemist won't keep Jin'tak long enough. If so, the bad guys will be overnumbered Master/Trolls/Demel/ Arsem and Jin'tak, so Irrek and Ache has no chance without support, what makes the final steps more interesting.

And maybe the Brotherhood has to support the king when the trolls and demons invade the Rensval valley, so there's a hopeless mass fight they can't win, while the main characters faces the Master and his people to stop his army from another place.

Well but...,
From Mirrum to the desert, so along the river, through the pass and over a mountain, in just 2 days? I have no idea how big you want to have the Rensval valley and around, but i wouldn't believe you can travel from one side to the other under 3-4 days, even with horse. It just looks bigger on the map but maybe i'm wrong.

Ok, Ache took the pass into the valley and went straight to the Northern Settlement. Irrek, on the other hand, went directly west, past Ledona and through the Harvest. Theres a small pass in the mountains right at the base of the Harvest. Thats one thing I pointed out that you forgot on you version of the map. No worries though.

Okay, I'll give a ten second shoot. First, the man in the crown is the king of Rensval valley and he somehow managed to stay alive during Jin Tak's utter shredding of the city. Mr. Inkey is what one would call RISEN: a being that has been magically transformed into a Mr. Inkey state and can never be killed. Jin Tak has become like super powerful or something, and is now about to fight Irrek and Ache over the King. Okay, let's see if I hit the side of a barn this time... MEP

Ok, this last chapter has revealed a lot, huh? I dont know why, but I feel like I should write a refresher of whats happened now that we know more. We now know that Jin'Tak was sent to kill off the useless people of Ferlon (hence all the bodies on the ground) by his master, who is actually the king, Nefferon. This explains why he has never been one to protect the people: he knows if he lets it become a survival of the fittest in his own kingdom, then he can easily weed out those worthy to become part of his army. However, he needed Arsem to create the undead, since that is part of Arsems knowledge and not his. The black creatures: this is what Arsem and Nefferon were reffering to by "Them". They were able to capture the substance of Them (theyll be named later) in the orb at the portal in the Caverns. These creatures are kind of like demonic parasites. They start as liquids that can move across surfaces and consume living things. Once consumed, these creatures can take that form. They are super powerful and super agile, like Jin'Tak in his troll form.

Ya, I know it can if you think about it, and it was some inspiration. But to be honest, the concept of corrupt leaders and consuming virus-like things isnt all that original anymore, so its pretty much free game. Besides, mines only similar, and if it is portrayed right, it can seem a lot different. I think the more you guys see of it, the less it will seem like Prototype. I personally see the black things like they portrayed Venom in Spiderman 3 mixed with some Prototype qualities. :)

Ya, kinda like a living liquid that takes over living things. Once attached, the liquid can take the form of the host, and the host eventully detirorates (spell check?), allowing the parasite to form back into a liquid form. The stuff can also sometimes spread across surfaces as an inanimate infection type thing (i.e. the covered soldier in the building).

ok so just something i noticed, but you stopped adding a single cover photo for your comic series, now you just have one of the comics pictures. why? Not a complaint, I'm just curious.
I didn't "stop" anything. If you followed the other series when they were still being made, it was the same deal. I make the cover picture after the series is finished. This way, I can use a picture from the chapter to attract viewers on the "explore" pages. It also keeps things a surprise. Sometimes things in a cover can give away something about the story.
