Not at all. Squirts are basically an extension ladder with a water way on the bottom and a teleboom is kinda like a Snozzle.
Actually both are waterways with escape ladders slapped on top as an option. Neither uses the ladder as the main structure - otherwise they would be "ladders" and not elevated master streams. :) Snozzle is more like a Snorkel with the two booms.

Does anybody know of a reputable, proffesional, real-life snorkel manufacturer? I am looking to make one, and I need something to base it off of.
If you don't care for a "new" Snorkel you can always remount an old one onto a new chassis. Philadelphia remounted two 85' Snorkels. If you want something completely new you may want to wait and see what Rosenbauer does for Chicago's new squads. They'll be smaller booms but if you want to go bigger there's nothing wrong with imagination. :) Permalink
For anyone who has not visited the Lego Twp Fire Dept., you may be interested in knowing that the LTFD has streamlined the color scheme. No longer is there a color scheme for each battalion. All Lego Twp front line apparatus all have the same color scheme. The reserve apparatus might be getting the new color scheme. A decision has yet to be made on that. The Chiefs vehicles will remain with their current scheme. New chiefs vehicles are in the works. When they arrive, they too will sport the new color scheme.
The Deerwater County Fire Department (me) is currently in the process of figuring out our older apparatus in relation to newer ones. Older is pre-April 2001 and earlier, and newer is April 2001 to now. Older has white with red stripe color scheme, newer has black over yellow with black stripe to be added in reflective vinyl. We are sticking with 4 stations right now, but this week I am going to be reconfiguring the county, in town means, so that it is more realistic. I noticed a few days ago that a suburb like city all over the city that is like 20 sqaure miles would not have 22,309 people. Permalink
First post I've made in quite a few years. Just wanted to stop by and say that I love the fact that this group is still up, running and active. Sad to see a lot of people like myself have shied away from this place. Keep on buildin'!
:( I would like to reopen this forum with whatever help I can get. I haven't been around for a while but I am getting some department updates finished and hopefully add current pictures to page of the STATIONS-APPARTUS. Permalink

I'd love to help you, but all the staff has either moved or gone inactive, and there's no real way to restart this group without at least one of them. Sorry. . . Permalink
