I dont think saving is the right term, its more like resuscitating it, after 2 years of death...

Well MM a paramedic and Bruce is a EMT and most it not all of us are CPR certified so let start resuscitation

Its not that simple.

1, MOCpages isn't exactly what it used to be, the number of LDD posts is through the roof.

2. MOCpages gives a lot of people to trouble to upload pictures, its a bit outdated, so people have moved on.

3. We already have a new group, where everyone, including some of the vets, are still very active, and I think everyone is content over there.

So maybe it is time that we move on, I loved this group, I learned a lot from it. But besides this post, the last time anyone even posted a comment on here was 2 years ago, and I dont even think we are going to more than 6 people read this, because a lot of builders already left.

Unless you get everyone back here, and active, this group is going to stay the way it is.

Sadly, from what I can tell, this group won't most likely. As Paulo said, many have left or gone inactive.

As probably the only moderator left to look at the silly emails we get for flagged posts that bring me back here, I'm going to have to call this group officially dead for the reasons Paulo stated. The community has moved on to bigger and better places to share creations, ideas, and any other jabber. Restarting a 2 year dead community is useless. Nice try but we have moved on from MOCPages. If you'd like to try to make your own group for whoever wants to stay on MOC be my guest, don't expect me there though.

Where has everyone moved onto? I don;t see any MOC group that is half as vibrant as this one used to be.

I believe Emergency Bricks is the new location for most LFC builders.

Facebook is where it's at, gentlemen. Even EB is dead.

I wouldn't say EB is dead at all. We still have new users joining each week, an average many visitors per day.

It's not the hopping crowd of familiar faces it once was, but few things in life ever remain the same for so long, that's just the nature of the game.

All in all, people will choose the format they prefer, though MOCPages makes it hard on themselves as the website is terribly outdated. Alternatives like EB provide more focused and immersive content delivery systems with a more user friendly interface, while some find Facebook convenient because the younger crowd is very much intertwined with it to begin with.

EB will remain around for years to come regardless of the ebbs and flows of the legacy C60C community, but it has always been my intention to become more and more hands off with it, passing the day to day oversight to the members of the community for whom it was built.

Happy building :)

I still see a number of new rigs here on MOC Pages weekly. Not all of them are LDD either. Yes, the community has moved around a bit, but things can build back up with a little work. It might be time to reach out to the new crowd of fire service builders, while trying to bring back the old.

More posts, more rigs, more incidents, HUZZAH!

It'd be really cool to see this group active again, just not sure how possible it would be. We could ask people to join, but would they, and would they be active? I guess there's no harm in trying to get people to join, but then how many of us current members posting in this topic will continue to be active here?

It's been dying for a good year or so. Several of the big builders went to Facebook, and Emergency Bricks! has become very successful.

Unless an admin is willing to help you out (which doesn't seem to be happening) then this group is done. But eventually everyone should come back (at least to EB) since they like to skip from site to site just because. Also it'd really help if this site wasn't as dated as brickshelf and broke all the time.

Ok. Well, this site is pretty good, but its not quite as bad as brickshelf. :) It has its glitches, but they always work out

While brickshelf is dated I don't recall it ever having such severe glitches or crashes. MOC is like an old raft that keeps getting leeks. Instead of "upgrading" to a newer better boat the staff just slap on more duct tape and call it a night. The crashes sometimes go along for several days and when they "fix" them something else is still broken like the images, activity bar or the comments section on MOCs. The uploader has been broken for me for like 3 years. I also used to admin a group here that was pretty successful but then MOC had a big crash and went down for 2 weeks. My group members and I moved to EB and never looked back. I'll stick with the much better Emergency Bricks for posting creations and group activity.

With the uploader, have you tried the simple uploader? Besides, updating a website costs money, and it is good that this site is free. I may join EB as well, but for now I'm mainly on MocPages.

Yup, tried everything you could think of and it's just plain broke. The creator who's supposed to be running this site has a job as an official Lego sculptor/designer, which pays fairly well as well as the ad revenue this site likely receives. He just has put this site on the back burner and likely forgot about it. Pretty much all the other sites the LFC used/uses are free. EB can take donations for updates as well as ad revenue, brickshelf is completely free and FB uses ad revenue.

Yeah I agree. I mean, in any group I've been in, the pictures of the creations don't appear on the home page, and if you have to use the simple uploader, you can only upload five pictures or less. Otherwise you can't upload anything.
