Quick Question
If you can find one of those net bags and the bits aren't too small, you could try including them in the washing machine.

Get some "Oxy Clean", mix a bit of that in a sink with cool water. Add Legos, let soak 15-20 minutes, remove, rinse, dry and they should be cleaner, especially the white ones.

That depends if there are stickers or print. Bleach will only affect the surface, so it won't damage plain bricks but it may ruin printed bricks. That is, unless you want to get rid of the print.
