It happened to me after the Olympics. It's probably just a bit of exhaustion. Take a break, then change genre and take it easy. It worked for me :)

Guten Tag. I usually an active builder, but recently haven't had time to build. From time to time I'll post different instructions on how to build some of the unique stuff that I use. My next tip will be how to build the psuedo-digitigrade legs used in my 00-GNDM Decimators.

'Ello! Bonjour! Konichiwa! Thanks for the invite Yuri, this seems like a great idea for a group. I'm gonna start building more system creations, I'm finding Bionicle to be a bit limiting, as in I can't convey my ideas as easily using Bionicle. And oh yeah, Happy Halloween! :)

As you know the 2nd Triathalon Contest would soon be ending. End of submission of entries would be November 8.

So far we had a record number of entries from old and new faces.

I would like to ask if you could formulate the new rules and criteria of judging the entries.

Maybe we can make it easier for everyone to choose the winner. Any ideas?

Yes. It seems the method I'm using in the Spinning Top contest is quite easy on the judges, and it works either for contests with many or few entries.

Im not familiar with the criteria judging method for the spinning top contest. I leave it to your expertise. I trust you. Maybe you can post the judging criteria in the Bionicle Display group in a few days before contest submission ends.

With regards to the judging criteria of the BD triathalon, I think its much easier. However, since the ratings is just 1 to 3, there's not much difference in ratings among the creations which might result in a likely tie. If in case of a tie, do we get special judges to break the tie or something? Also what is the bonus point awarding system?

You already determined the bonus points for posting more than one entry I believe... It should be in the rules. Do I remember wrong?

True, but how do we quantify the bonus?
Scenario 1:
Plus 5 for 3 entries?
Plus 3 for 2 entries?
No Plus for 1 entry? on the total points received
e.g If Gringat gets a total of 24 points from all judges score and he participates in all 3 categories, a plus 5 bonus is awarded to him. So he gets around 29 points overall for his category entry.
or

Scenario 2:
Plus 2 for 3 entries per judges score
and Plus 1 for 2 entries per judges score?

example:
I rate Gringats a 3. If he completes all three then he gets an automatic 5?

What do you think is fairer, the former or the latter bonus rating system.

I tought about +3 to the overall points for entering 2 categories and +5 to the overall points for entering all 3.
This way the larger numer of voters, the less it incides on the judging, thus favouting better MOCs while still promoting multiple category entries.

hELLO Yuri,

This is with regards to Bionicle Display's Bionicle Tribute Contest.

I think we need to finalize some more of the rules.

So far, we have agreed to the following:
1. Make a bionicle creation that honors your favorite bionicle character set by remaking him to your style. Said creation should still be identifiable with the bionicle character. Said creation would have a height limit of 13".
2. On the same page, include your tribute to the bionicle theme in your own creative way(a song, a youtube video, a drawing, a moc scene, a poem, etc).

Some rules that we need to thresh out are the following:
1. Do we allow only bionicle parts?(to make true to the contest theme?)
2. Do we allow a mocer to create more than one creation in a page.
3. We should at least elaborate the judging criteria on this with regards to the double judging for 1) BEST REMAKE OF A BIONICLE CHARACTER 2) BEST BIONICLE TRIBUTE.
4. When would be the official start of the contest?

In fact I do. Keep it short, simple, and give it a catchy sound. Onomatopoeic names work well with elemental characters. If you separate the name in two parts, it's cooler if one of them sounds like a title or rank (in a fictional language).

Thanks, would you sugest corupting words in other languages or just directly using them, like TLG did with "Umbra"?

You can do a bit of both. You may also mix different languages, I did it for "Dystor" and it came out well. Also, you may find a name randomizer and use that. (I just realized this should have been posted in the "advice" thread)

But if you post that many that quick, how are people supposed to keep track of them? Try to slow down: post once, twice a week and choose only the best stuff. You'll notice the difference immediately.
Also, it may be a good idea to upload several smaller, simpler MOCs in one same page.

Yes. SinceI discovered the HUGE increase of ratings produced by a clean BG, I strongly reccommend it to others.
Also, I'm setting it as a requirement for any contest, so thet it's easier to see the MOC to judge it fairly.

Yuri, Toa of Shadow's entry at Bionicle Display was not included in the judging stage. I know his background pics are not that clean(white) but its really bad since he used multiple colors and a dark background do accentuates the multiple colors. I would advise that his entry be allowed. Of course its your call. Also, please state clearly voting for oneself is not allowed again. Some newbies may not know about it. Thanks

I had an idea for a contest. I'm currently building a MOC based off of a picture from a manga I'm reading. I was wondering if a contest like that would be possible. Pick a picture and have the contestants try to recreate it as close as possible, in MOC form of course. The great thing about a contest like that is you can change the picture once the contest has ended and start it all over again.
