Mr. Xenomurphy´s tiny World of Bricks

Wellcome to my page.

My name is Thorsten Bonsch, I’m an AFOL and I’m living in Germany.
Thanks to my older brother, I literally grew up with LEGO® and defied the dangers of choking hazard by eating other things than my precious bricks.

Friends and I used to build lots of stuff for little Smurf figures, until TLG came up with the famous minifig and the first space series.

Then, at the age of 16 or 17, darkness fell. Other things became more interesting, like drawing, painting, making movies, 3d animation, writing …

My little nephew became interested in LEGO® and assimilated all my old bricks. It was okay. I used the chance to make sure that he received the biggest and latest LEGO® set each year for Christmas, so huge and complicated that I had to build it for him. The only problem was to fight off my brother and father, both were also eager to help. How selfish, hahaha.

In 2005, I saw the first ray of light in the darkness. I wanted to build again but didn’t owe a single brick. Going digital was an interesting alternative. Since I didn’t know about MLCad and didn’t like LDD (the variety of different parts was very limited), I started recreating parts in 3DS Max.

I lost interest from time to time, but always came back, until in early 2009 I realized that this wasn’t the right way. I called my nephew and asked for his LEGO® collection. He was kind enough to leave the collection to me until his son will be old enough for them.

Darkness was finally over. I used his bricks to build my first MOCs, discovered MOCpages, flickr, TBB and all the other cool sites. I became influenced and motivated by some fantastic builders, like Nannan, Mark Kelso, Dave Kaleta and Keith Goldman for example.

And now we are here, dear visitor. If you are, just like me, a huge fan of comics, movies and TV series, you might find something interesting when you rummage in my little collection of MOCs.
I’d be happy if I can motivate you.
