Hey there the names Nick~

I've been collecting Lego since I was about 5 years old, my very first set was a little medieval set consisting of a knight, wheel burrow and a tree. A friend of my mums bought it for me back in 1996. From then on I absolutely loved Lego. Now 16 years later my latest Lego set is the Lego Pet Shop. I wish I could say I still had all the pieces from when I was just a little boy, unfortunately my mum gave all my Lego away when I was 10 years old, however through some sort of miracle she bought me my first Lego set in 2 years, The Tie-Fighter set of 2002 and from then on I started another collection. By the time I turned 14 she gave it all away again, I can't remember how many sets and pieces I used to have but if I were to guess how many pieces were given away, I would say about 20,000 at least. I had everything from classic toy story sets, classic cowboy sets, Rock raiders and even the very first spiderman set, it saddens me to think of how many pieces I could have had today.

In the present day I have about 13,000 pieces, I began buying Lego with my own money sometime toward the end of 2011, and I must say Lego has really changed. For the first time In almost a decade I started building things again. I spent along time just looking at people's creations all over the Internet and saw so many things I couldn't have even imagined 10 years ago. Building techniques have really changed, there are so many creations today with such sophistication and such brilliant minds behind them. This is what encouraged me to begin collecting again. For me Lego give me a sense of heightened nostalgia, all the great times I had as a child playing with Lego and making things which I thought were better then everyone else's.

Today it's much different though, you really have to do something different, incorporate new ideas and techniques to make something that really catches the eye and imagination. I've seen so many amazing creations on this site, just awe inspiring and spectacular. It's such a great thing being able to view so many people's ideas/creations, and to share my own as well, and the best part is that it's fun and brings me back so many good memories.
