The KZ-121a is an applicant submitted by Findley Combat Development LLC for the Mechanized Drone Project, code named 'Lancette', as defined by the United States DoD request for a light unmaned mechanized combat unit to be used by the Heavy Weapons and Mechanized divisions of the United States Consolidated Military Force. ~ article 09601135-07b ~ released October 2136
Initial design phase began in November of 2136 and the first 1/1 scale prototype serial no. 0001-x1 began movement trials in January of 2137. The first fully armed prototype serial no. 0004-x2 began weapons training in March 2137 and was destroyed after a gryo malfunction caused a fall off a balance test area 10 meters from the ground. This lead to the incorperation of two aditional gyros. The first untethered flight was achieved in early April of 2137 by serial no. 0005-x3. The first arial firing of weapons took place later that same month by serial no. 0006-x3. The first wartime combat sortie was successflly completed by prototype serial no. 0011-x3a and a final design was submited to the DoD in late June 2137. 600 units are scheduled for completion by January 2138.
The KZ-121 Fast Recconaisance Armed Ground Infantry Lancette or 'FRAGIL' is a light unmaned mechanized combat unit capable of either remote opperation or independant drone duties. Often used as a scout or forerunner, its light weight, compact size (2.2m tall) and modest weaponry aid its exceptional agility and jumping skill. A light ion pulse cannon paired with a twin tube anti armor rocket launcher are standard issue and can be removed for additional speed. A mk. 9 jump-jet pack allows for sustained hover of up to 40 seconds reaching a height of 4 meters and burst jumps of 30 meters vertical. A General Electric stablilized internal fusion reactor provides constant power to all onboard systems and has a quadruple redundant chain reaction prevention program. Encrypted data streams at a constant rate of no less than 17 teraflops per second. Detection absorbing materials reduce incoming taget lock by 37%. a visual camoflauge unit can be installed in place of the jump-jet, but greatly increases weight and lowers speed and agility by over 60%. Three internal gyros provide motion detection updates 100 times per second. Only one gyro is needed for operation at any given time. The additional two provide backup in the event of a faliure or can be engaged for rapid evasive manuvers both on ground and arial movment.
The FRAGIL is often used alongside the old, but still unmatched MCU 1a "Big One" to suppress nearby enemy targets to allow the firing of the MCU 1a's TSR IV railgun.
