Fort Cook
A bastioned coastal artillery fort.
About this creation
This is the fort that defends my Carribean Port of New Yateley.

It is a two tiered casemate fort armed with ten cannon. Eight of these are arranged in the two tiered main battery and the other two form a single tier auxiliary battery which can sweep the area immediately in front of the harbour (to its left), in case the enemy get too close.

The primary purpose of the fort is to stop pirate attack by ship but Fort Cook is also protected by two bastions at the rear which flank the entrance to stop an attack from landward.

Fort Cook is named after Captain James Cook RN, the famous explorer. It is the largest structure in my little port and to enable it to be transported it separates into two sections. I displayed it and my port at the Merrist Wood Open Day Event in May'05. It was built about a month before and demolished not long after.
