I modeled up the Vigilant in LDraw shortly after I created my Ticonderoga Carrier LDraw model. I wanted a smaller carrier, one that could possibly be made in Minifig scale, should I choose to do so in the future. Overall I was happy with the result, and Scott Sanburn really liked it.
A side view of the craft. Nice details, not too overdone, and less major guns than the Ticonderoga means that it was more likely to be something that I could create with my limited collection at the time. It was because of this MOC that I started to toy with the idea of using plate side panels, as I tried out in the Intradiction, as well as angled side walls, as in the Archer. I never did get around to this model as the moonbase standard kicked into high gear, and I ended up focusing on creating moonbase modules to use in displays for the local LUG.
A forward shot. Note I did not use a bay door this time around...I wanted two, and in a Minifig scale model, I probably would. But in microscale the guys in the Exodus Wars story arc suggested leaving it off for now.
