WOOHOOO !!! ... i got a new Tower ! ... "Whew!" ... after 3 weeks of waiting on the weather ... i FINALLY got a day with barely no wind or breeze what-so-ever ! ... and so, i was able to take advantage of this perfect day to join those 2 Lego Tower parts together ! ... so here it is ... my new 15 ft. 2 3/4 inch tall Tower !!!
About this creation
Now before i get started, I would first like to say to all you kidos viewing this moc ...
*WARNING* ... DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME ! ... seriously, i'm not joking ... please DO NOT try it ... it's not worth falling off a ladder ... or worse yet, a roof ... and end up breaking an arm, or a leg, or your neck ... or WORSE ! ... seriously, it's not worth the risk (think about it).
I'm sure alot of you may be thinking right now ... "well, YOU'RE doing it !" ... and you're right, i am ... but only because i'm a professional roofer, and i have experience and with being WAY UP HIGH on ladders and roofs.
So with those words of caution out-of-the-way, here's my new Tower. =]
In this first pic, i'm attempting to hold 7 yardsticks (that are taped together) ... up beside the Tower ... but in the process, i almost knocked the tower down.
After the close-call of "almost" toppling my Tower ... i decided to remove the yardsticks, and illustrate the height with a tapemeasure instead. Yup, same height ... just a different angle. =]
In this earlier pic, i was attaching the last segment of my Tower to the top.
It was abit cloudy while i assembled the 2 segments of this tower together, but in this pic the sun finally came out ... well, at least it came out long enough to take this pic ... and good thing too, because most of the other pics were dark, and hard to see ... "whew", i'm glad i got at least one clear pic !
YIKES !!! ... i bumped into my Tower again ... not enough to make it fall, but enough to make it jiggle and freek me out !
"Whew!" ... that was a close one ... but my Tower is ok now. =]
Looking down, you can see most of the shape and design ... aside from the Tower base ... the rest of it is made up of LEGO axles, connectors, and a few other "thing-a-muh-jiggies". =]
Interesting project. One suggestion, though - on your next one it might be wise to build the tower, photograph it, then move it to a horizontal position on the ground for measurement. A lot safer that way. A tape measure would also be a bit more efficient.
Anyway, cool build!
how in the world does it stay standing!? it seems incredibly unstable, it's like stacking cookies up 15 ft and expecting it to stay up! if it leaned slightly to any one direction it would unbalance and topple! i really don't understand how this works, it's just amazing!
I do have to admit that that's an impressive tower. I fid myself ever more amazed by what people build and post, and this is one of the more amazing Mocs I've seen. You certainly get a 5 from me, mainly because the scale doesn't go up to 10.

Did you have to order anything from Bricklink?
o0O0oh yeahhh ... ya know i did. (Lol)
I like it

Wow, that is amazing! I didn't know that leogs could get that high. I wonder if a person had enough plain bricks that he couldn't build a huge base, and then a tall tower by tapering off of the base and going up until he reached a point?
WOW that's the tallest lego tower ive seen, i really like the design you used great job.
LOL! i knew it was your arm! my little brother thought you were fat and i was like, are you blind!? lol great job. =]

your tower is getting too tall! my next goal will be to build a tower taller than yours (if i even have enouh lego to make it that tall)
oh Wow ... i didn't know i had a secret admirer and rival ... do you have any Towers posted yet ? ... if you don't, be sure to take pictures of ANY Towers you build and post 'em ... that way, i can follow your progress, oh, and good luck. =]
I like how you made the tower's structure. Don't know how I missed that earlier...
Anyway, in response to your question about that baseplate, I got it off that big knights kingdom castle set back in '04. They don't make that theme anymore, but I'm sure you could track some down if you want one.
Lolz ... well geee, thx (i think) heh' ... i can tell ya though, it wasn't exactly too easy. =] ... for instance, half way up the axles started to buckle ... so i had to make some modifications ... and then as i got to the top, it was kinda *top-heavy* ... so i had to carefully break the tower down and dissassemble some of it, so that i could add more 2x4 blocks at the base, and make it solid ... in order to make it *heavier* at the bottom ... and i couldn't even tell ya how many times i climbed up and doen that ladder (Lol) during the coarse of the day assembling that 15 foot (plus) Tower ... "whew", and at the end of the day, my legs were sore (heh') ... but it was worth it, because i had fun building it ... and i do appreciate your comment Clan Father Tom =] ... it was fun responding to it.
