The 2nd Place winner in Saber Scorpion's Xarkon Vehicle Contest. A heavy assault fighter from the nation of Xarkon.
About this creation
Background: The Xarkon Heavy Aerospace Assault Fighter, 'Norn', is named after the Norse fates, which saw the past, present, and future. Xarkonian engineers received orders directly from Emperor Lucas Mars himself to create a new heavy aerospace fighter. The result was the XHAAF MkI, nicknamed the 'Norn'. The adjustable wings allowed for gliding in atmosphere, while also retaining the Crown of Xarkon shape. The large engines give the craft excellent speed, making it good for hit-and-run missions. Another rare trait in fighters is the Interstellar Drive, used on this craft as per orders of Lucas Mars. These craft would be able to chase enemies in light speed, surprising the enemy. The craft requires a pilot and a gunner. Some modified models are outfitted with two gunners for an advantage in massive dogfights. The pilot can also use the medium Quad-Pulse Cannons mounted on the cockpit. Due to the fighter's versatility, it is one of the most common sights in major space battles.

A digital pic of the Norn. I rarely do these, mostly because the detail rarely comes out right, and when it does, the lighting sucks.

One of my new standards, a 1024x768 wallpaper image of the Norn by a planet.

The money shot. Note the decals. Well, printed-out paper taped to plates, but whatever. It matches with other Xarkon ships.

   The small wing-tipped pulse cannons.

Side view. Note the angled wings.

Don't ask me why I put a decal under the engine. I must've had one too many Mountain Dews.

   More butt shots.

Front view. I really shouldn't be writing this up tonight. I have to get up early tomorrow for band...bleh.

   Ladies dig the heavy weaponry.

A close up pic of the wing-tip pulse cannon. Because pulse cannons are 856.42x cooler sounding than 'laser'.

More views of the wings. I designed it to match the Xarkon standard of looking like the "Crown of Xarkon" Which is the Xarkon Emblem.

   Pilot's controls. BLURRY PIC!

Gunner's controls. BLURRY PIC! Word to the wise, interior pics taken with webcams suck.

I know, not wearing Xarkon uniform. So sue me for not being allowed to buy stuff off the...uhhhh....INTERNETS.

One of the most awesome entries in my contest for sure. It got second place, but it really deserved to tie with both first-place winners, in my opinion. I love the angle of the wings, and I think the cockpit canopy fits fine. Awesome job. But what's with the long stretch of no new MOC's here? Build more stuff!

Great googly moogly! That thing sure is intimidating. From the front, at least.
