Baromas' history is a long and tortured one. He belonged to a race similar to Keetongu's, but were much smaller. The Gyrasars, as they called themselves, were a very early race in the history of the Matoran Universe, but they were almost all destroyed by Lord Cartilus, one of Pridak's ancestors. Cartilus used biological warfare in the war he launched on the Gyrasars, relesing a virulent Antidermis plague onto all of their cities.
Baromas was once a stonemason, but he was enslaved by a rogue makuta namd Vlidrakh and taken to an unnamed island to work for him and other notorious slavers. Baromas finally escaped his slavery by, instead of working on a huge project the Makuta wanted his skills for, he carved into the walls of his cell. When a makuta slaver came to check on him, a makuta named Obsidiakh, a good thump from Baromas' fist on the wall brought the ceiling of his cell crashing down on him. Unfortunatley, some of the rubble landed on Baromas' head, which destroyed many of his higher brain functions.
Somehow Baromas made it to the island of Kegrthar, which is what Koromar and Korrothis were called before they split, and were still one island. When the Elemental Lords Alliance formed, Baromas was recruited as one of the first Minions, under the First airlord, Maelestrakk. He received aid for his injured head, but all spark of orijinality is lost from him now.
Gringat, the newest Airlord, now cares for Baromas.
Baromas has the ability to control air pressure. He can produce winds, and crush enemies into cubes by compressing the air around them. He's often called in to help steer the flying island during storms. If attacked, he'd compress his attacker into a cube exactly 10cm across, no matter how big they are. His amazing originality and skills at stonework are now gone, and the only shape he can create is an easily stackable grey cube. Much like Wall-E.
Baromas' name is derived from the word "Barometer", whch is a device for predicting the weather by measuring air pressure.
Detail of the hands. Good, no?
Gringat and Baromas.
Yet another character from LOK. There's more to come =]
Ye-es, but I think he's more like Cylotron's matoran, Piston. =]
The head design is much more complex than it looks though. There's a bit of cutting gong on behind the eyepeice. It was a megablocks peice I cut though. I'd never put a blade to my lego, it's too high quality.
