This is the page of an RC(using Power Functions) version of my HotRod! I ordered 4 M-Motors, 2 IR Receivers, Remote, Bat. Box, and Lights to Literally bring my HotRod! to life! Well... Electronically. They arrived Friday, April 10th, 2009. After I received them, I immediately started work on it, and I'll continue to update this page with progress reports until I have finished. Thank you, and please stay tuned.
About this creation

I didn't realize untill about a minute ago that the IR Receiver and LED Lights are on BACKORDER. O.o Crap. So they will be shipped "By April 15th" so... yeah... I'll be able to bulid the body of the Car around the Bat. Box and the Motors, but other than that, I can't do a thing. So... I'll keep you guys updated.

EDIT #2:
Hey guys, I'm thinking about taking the Suspension off my Tumbler and putting it on my HotRod, what do you guys think? I'm wondering, because if I make it too high, it wouldn't look very good, and if I make it too low, that could cause problems, like the front bumper getting caught and so on. Any ideas?

Update 1:53AM Cent. 4/17/09: Hey guys, I've gotten the Steering and Drive Motors in place, and working on converting the trunk to hold the Bat. Box. I have to make it tho so it sticks out the top though, otherwise I would have to raise the back end WAY up to allow the gears to the rear axle to be in place, but I'm making the Bat. Box easily removable to put the trunk hatch back into place. :D I've come up with a really cool stearing mecanism. It used to have a very wide turning radius due to the swing-arm thing only haveing a small slot to slide through, so when it got to a certain point, it would hit the walls of the slot. I've made it a 4-point system, where there is the bar that slides through the slot, then on the ends are 2 other bars to attach to the peices holding the wheels, thus, allowing a much tighter turning radius. *Yay me!* My IR Receiver and Lights are on their way, they were shipped today... er... yesterday seeing as it's about 2 hours into the AM. But anyway, that's just a quick little update. Please stay tuned for more!

Well, Guys(and female individuals.), the time has come... almost. Right now, I have the whole body complete. I'm going for Functionality before Looks, so I'll be posting even MORE versions as it progresses through its various stages of... make-overs lol. HOPEFULLY my Headlights and IR Receivers show up tomorrow so I can install them and get this Puppy rollin'!

Update 6:27pm Cent. 7/3/09
I haven't messed around with my HotRod for quite some time. I ran into Problems with the gearing to the rear wheels and also a little bit with the Steering, so I left it a while becuase I was getting frustrated with it. Then I kinda forgot about it. Sorry guys. I saw a Video from "Searme" on Youtube with a 2 speed Automatic Transmition that switches the gear to alow more torque when a sufficient amount of resistance is applied to the wheels. It's bulky though. I'm trying to figure out a way to slim it down a little, and stick it into my HotRod.

Quoting Ape Fight Hello! Did you ever finish this?
Sadly, I did not. It is now in a hundred pieces. Back when I started on it, the only battery box available for PF was the big one. I'm kind of wishing it had kept the car around to use the smaller battery box (that uses AAA batteries). That box would have fit in the trunk. I was also having issues with the differential while the big battery box was mounted atop the trunk. The car's structure just wasn't strong enough to support the weight; when I made the first vision, it was never intended to. Very sorry for the random unfinished page :P

About Jonathan "LeGogh" What I meant was to build models for LEGOLands and what-not. And yeah, It would be awesome to do commissioned works too.

It was a birthday present. :) But you can't buy it at stores anymore...we've had ours for like years, so it's an old set. Too bad. Good luck with your Power Functions stuff. -matthew-

Good set here--old though. I wish had all the sets from the past. This is from eBay. Expensive, but this is where we got our pipes from--and it also explains why we build so much blue stuff.

Maybe you could shorten the engine by 1 stud front to back, then put a bunch of wheels and gears on the front like I did. I do like your clean look on you engine. What did you do for the exhaust? Lots of fun stuff can be done with pipes. -matthew-

Quoting Ape Fight 4 medium motors?! What for?! I count one for steering, one for drive... and then I'm stuck. Sounds awesome : ) though I do have a sneaking suspicion that your Rod may be too small for all of this. A good excuse for a new Rod!
I bought 2 other Motors and another IR Receiver to use in anything else I want to build. In the Rod, I'll make it so the Bat. Box is easily removeable, that way I can take it out and do the same thing on something else. This is so I don't have to spend even MORE money on an extra Bat. Box. I looked at the Bat. Box on and it does look quite big. But like you said, it's a good reason to build it bigger!
