The Ghan
LEGO model of The Ghan loco. A North-South transcontinental running from Adelaide to Darwin, Australia.
About this creation
This is my (and I believe the first but no longer the only) rendition of the loco for The Ghan. The Ghan is a North-South transcontinental which runs from Adelaide to Darwin in Australia. It could be NR74, NR 75 or NR109.

Pictures of the real thing can be seend here and here (running dual with NR75).

-Inverted bricks for flues
-Watertanks on the underside

Brickbuilt version made by Peter Parsons about to be carved for dinner. Yum! Lego Ghan. More pics here.

Instructions for you to build your own are here. NB. The thumbnails are broken but the instruction pages are fine.

A shady gumtree sits in the background. Boy that Australian desert is flat, and flawless.

And backwards. The real ones run back to back usually but I was lazy.

G-day. I was searching for pictures of the Indian Pacific and I was heartbroken to find not alot of Australian trains. Great creation of the Ghan there. If you check out my MOCs there is the Indian Pacific (in LDD because of a lack of dark blue bricks on the market). I was wondering if this fits any minifigures.
