The Dart is my twelfth VOAT. I wanted to build another VOAT in the style of the Glave but wanted it to be Ice Planet 2002. This turned out to be a problem since I ended up not having the right parts for what I'd planned. I'm happy with how it turned out and very pleased that the pics make it look better than it does in person. :D
Ice Planet 2002 has an obsession with launching satellites for a good reason: spying isn't for Spyrius only. The IP2K2 high command was very interested in the development of the Glave at the Hypocron Shipyards and they used what info they gleaned to attempt building their own Dominance Class Starfighter (DCS). The technology didn't fully translate to IP2K2 tech but the Dart proved to be an effective starfighter. Mass production was absolutely out of the question given cost to benefit ratio. In all 25 were built. This one is currently being flown by the IP2K2 ambassador, Farnix Oskon.
One of these days I'll venture out of my mecha cave and join you people out in space. All your VOAT ships are really impressive and I love this one in particular because Ice Planet is one of my favorite space themes.
I'll admit, I still prefer the Glave, but this thing is excellent. The Ice Planet sets (that I've only seen on Ebay due to age) were always interesting but never quite did it for me, but the design on this is superb. It's actually kind of a dual VOAT-- it's a variation on the bubble cockpits and on the Ice Planet line. Fantastic job!
Ice Planet was too much after my time to have any nostalgic appeal, I always thought it was a pretty garish and unpleasant look (not a fan of that trans-neon orange). You'd have to work pretty hard to come up with a color scheme to make this beauty look bad, though.
... What to say ... This is G-R-E-A-T !!! Interesting story too ! I really love this kind of heavy fighters you've made recently with the Glave and this one. And the fact that it's an Ice Planet ship is a plus - Totally awesome work
