The (full!) International Space Station: adding a lot on to Lego's official model.

Since I made it awhile ago, I decided it was time to make a page for it.
I ordered the Lego set #7467-1, International Space Station. It came, I built it, and that was that. For about a week.
I quickly became frustrated by two major faults: they used fence parts for the solar panels of their crudely built Soyuzs, and it was only the current (at the time) configuration of the ISS. So I decided to build a major mod to it; all the rest of the station as it will be when it is done (if it does get done with the shuttle problems). Mine is nowhere near as spectacular as Brian Hasting's version, but it is something.
It's amazing how hard it is to find pictures of the ISS that are useful for building it, especially the underside. Another thing was figuring out where the shuttle will end up docking (for probably 2 months before it's retired). I still am a little unsure, and if anybody is positive, please tell me.
The solar panels were harded than I thought. They obviously can't be made out of Legos, as: (a) I don't have enough blue panels and (b) they would be too heavy. So I decided to use blue paper, and then the problem of connecting them arose. I fooled around with a number of different ideas before I came across a good one. I used the slits in the end of black friction pegs (lots of 'em) to hold the paper in. I put double stick tape where the connections were to make it thicker and less slippery. Still, they can come out and I need to be very careful moving it, also because the main solar panel truss does not have an extremely sturdy connection with the rest of the station.
I particually like the Soyuz and the ATV. I think LEGO could have spent about 15 more minutes and made a better Soyuz on their official model. I wasn't even thinking about the ATV and the idea for using those control sticks just popped into my head. You can't see the my Soyuz well in these pictures, so I will upload another later.
The last part is the support. I knew that with the solar panel truss, the spindly little supports in the official model wouldn't work, so I added another one and put the whole thing on a bigger plate.
Now I'm almost comletely out of black 1 and 1 1/2 friction pegs!
