The Chance was the flagship of the USC (United Star Cruises) cruise company. Three others of this type were built, but two of them crashed into Uranus.
About this creation
One of the longer ships that the LS docks produced. A total of four were built of this ultra luxury line.
Despite its size and formidable weight, the LS-2000 ships only had two repulsorblast engines. It guaranteed a stable and almost unnoticable flight, but it wasn't really fast.
Some more stats:
- scale: microscale
- length: 1200 metres
- passengers: 12,000
- personnel: 14,435
- engines: two repulsorblast engines, no auxiliary engines
- weaponry: none
- luxury components: among other things, the ship contained 17 restaurants, 9 casinos, a skating rink, seven cinemas, three pools (yes!) and a gravity-free playzone.
A bridge could be found in the front and aft of the ship. The front deck was mainly used for recreational purposes -like the panorama deck- but it could also be used to steer the ship if needed.
The ship contained fourteen specially luxury suites (seven on each side). The entire three stories of the suites were surrounded with glass, giving a spectacular view of the stars. Even if you were on the toilet, you didn't have to miss the planets slowly passing by.
Closer view of the luxury suites.
I will be posting a couple more LS class Longships, as this is what I've been doing these last days.
