Seven-wide version of one of the trains used on the famous Moscow Metro. Class 81-717.
About this creation
This is my seven-wide version of a train on the famous Moscow Metro. It is a type 81-717 and seems to come in a wide variety of slightly different versions.
This train features in my virtual diorama "Late Night on the Moscow Metro" which can be seen here.
I really liked the way the black 'face' of the train was sort of embedded in the blue as well as the yellow stripes in the proto and started with them. The original version had 1x2x3 train windows in blue but since these were beyond my budget and my only copies are on the other side of the world I decided to mimic them with cheaper snot.
* Seven wide design to better match the wideness of the proto. I plan on using this technique for subsequent Russian (and some Indian) MOCs to represent the wide, wide-gaugeness of them.
* Embedded six-wide black face in 'seven' wide frame
Hi Tim! It is a fantastic subway train you have created! Is there any way at all that you have any instruction, plan, or an assesment of the needed bricks and parts for the train that you would be able to share? My 4 year old son is growing up in Kiev and he is crazy for it!
