Yes, I tried some lego technic,
it would have been better with the newer technic parts but hey, you can't keep buying more and more lego (wait...actually you can...)
Anyway,
I made a complete car, with the remote control I can make it steer and make its motor run.
But there's a small problem...
The car is too heavy, the motor is not strong enough to make it ride.
Because I didn't have those universal joints I wasn't able to test it before, the car was almost complete when I ordered the joints,
it was pretty frustrating when I took the remote and saw the car moving only a millimeter.
its steering mechanism works perfect on the other hand.
My plan is too take out the gearbox first (to reduce friction) and then I test again, if it doesn't get a decent speed I'll remove some superflues things, like its pneumatic doors and probably its covering sidepanels.
The result will be a car skeleton, it will be ugly but it will be able to ride.

Hello there, you know instead of using 1 motor like for instance 1 Power functions M-Motor, just use two or three motors if needed. Same goes for the XL-Motor but you may need more than one battery in order to power it.
What motors did you use? The smaller motors spin faster, but the larger motors have more power. Also, the gearbox probably jammed or made to much friction. Make it as simple as possible, but make it look complex enough so people respect your technic building skills.
The angles you created in the rear and front of the car make it, how to describe it... it's like the swooshability that's in certain spaceships, but you've caught it in a car, vrooom!

I'm working on a new design already but I need the U-joints because it HAS to have that independent suspension, I'm making the car for a schoolproject so...

That's great! I don't have a decent motor, so I can't make a working car. As a technic car, it's nice! I love the doors and the steering. I myself get frustrated when I make a giant creation with my only motor and it doesn't move...
Awesome!!! I like the steering, you must be a very good builder to incorporate a motor and steering system. Shame that it is too heavy...maybe LegoŽ sell a more powerful motor?

I really like this : ) great technical features. I don't think he body flows very well but it's good enough. Perhaps use the chassis for the basis of an off-roader? Then gearing it down to a crawler gear would mean it can drive and would be OK. Nice job overall, I hope you get it running!

Kudos for taking on the task of a technic build! A nice looking design. As far as the motor issue goes...we'll just say it's a metaphor for internet DSL!
Hey Sebeus, I am building a remote control PF motorized tank at the moment. This looks really nice btw, you have talent in Technic and System building. I am trying to reduce the weight of my tank so that it will move as fast as possible. The functional difference between my tank and your car is that it will be a skid steer vehicle powered by two XL motors and that it will be much smaller, so it should be pretty speedy.
