Rebuilt, reengineered, the Mark III frame has gotten a major upgrade.
About this creation
With the mass-production of the Kerykeion Mark III, it was of course time for the hero to get his upgraded unit. Recognizing the ship's crew's proven record together, Ian Corusa had seen fit to leave the crew of the Arbalest together even as their ship was refitted into the Arbalest II, a more advanced vessel utilizing new Vitas Engine technology. The ship was completed shortly prior to the attack of the alien forces - a fortunate occurrence, as it would play a pivotal role in the ensuing counteroffensive. Though Alexander Kanbara's Kerykeion Mark III was still top-of-the-line and its pilot extremely skilled, it had difficulty faring against the stronger breeds of aliens, much like its kin. Finally, a particularly powerful foe managed to take him down, though not out. Afterward, the Mark III would be scrapped, as Yui revealed a surprise - a new suit she had been working on for some time, customized specifically for him. The high-mobility close-range assault Kerykeion, Armada. The AT was given a chance to prove itself shortly, as the Arbalest came under attack once more - during the battle, Alex was amazed to find that it drastically exceeded the performance even of his Mark III, putting it on a more even footing once more. It would thereafter serve as his personal unit for the rest of the war, and even twenty years later remained state-of-the-art.
Armada stands 20 meters tall, with a frame that bears design similarities to both Pheora and Grand Cannon. It was developed from scratch onboard the Arbalest II, using Alex's combat data as a model for its weapons systems. Finding that he preferred close-range combat, it was designed with a custom-made "Reiki" armblade, a sword which can open into an alternate configuration wherein high-density plasma is channeled along the blade. When active, this gives the sword a signature look of being wrapped in blue flames, and enhances its cutting power to the point where it can cut virtually anything. Most defenses will be either overwhelmed by the plasma or penetrated by the solid blade, making the dual-layered attack highly effective against all types of enemies. As with all Kerykeion units, it sports the signature wrist-mounted quad beam submachineguns, which while comparatively weak remain effective for suppressing and anti-missile fire.
In lieu of a torso-mounted Vitas Engine like the standard model, Armada sports a pair of engines mounted one in each forearm. The power outputs of the two reactors are carefully synchronized to deliver a constant power output, with energy from each reactor being provided at its highest when the other is at its low cycle, and stored in a condenser in the torso in place of the normal reactor to give the machine a constantly regenerating energy supply much greater than the Mark III's. Most of this energy is channeled into the machine's speed; its signature trait is its massive shoulder-mounted thruster units, which can be rotated independently to allow for vectored thrust. Alex quickly learned to master this capability to allow Armada to perform complex acrobatic maneuvers that would otherwise have been impossible. As a finishing touch, its back unit is a secondary condenser which charges when the main one is full, designed to release its energy in short bursts of highly increased performance for what is already a top-of-the-line unit. These combined make Armada one of the only ATs able to achieve escape velocity on its own, allowing it to exit Earth's atmosphere without aid.
An absolute powerhouse, Armada was more than a match for the bulk of its opponents, though as one unit it was still vulnerable to large numbers of forces. Luckily, it would not be alone for long...

oh, i said 0083 because the GP-01 had a similar thruster type.
While it's vaguely similar to GP-02's, Armada's definitely takes more after 00 Gundam's, particularly with the capability for vectored thrust - that is, spirals, twists, and other motions that one can get via application of torque from two rotating thrusters.

which 00? i'll assume 0083 until corrected.
No, the new Gundam show, Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Many of my recent designs draw inspiration from it - Grand Cannon's transformation gimmick, for instance, is similar conceptually (though not in execution) to that used by the final boss. Similarly, the main character's suit, the titular 00 Gundam, helped inspire the shoulder thrusters used by Armada. And of course, Exia helped make the armblade my absolute favorite melee weapon, prompting a return to using it on my mechs after I had stopped doing so.

Oops! hahaha! I meant to, but I got distracted! Honest. You know, I really wish that when you are making the comment, that it would have the pictures in front of you--its difficult to do this without the picture. It took me a couple of minutes to see what the difference was between this one and the last--its mainly around the cannons, no? I think that maybe 2-4 studslonger wing/cannons would look cool, and that the extra "wing" part that you had on this one's predecessor looked fantastic--I'm kind of missing it on this one.
The difference is largely in equipment - rather than a set of wing/cannons, Armada uses a 00 Gundam-inspired set of freely-rotating thruster units mounted on the shoulders. It also has the condenser unit on the back which Grand Cannon lacks, trades the large thruster units on the outer legs for the simpler 1x6 tile covering the ankle, removes the heeled feet, and lacks the spiked elbows of Grand Cannon. And it lacks the shield, of course.

I made you a mod in the unelites. However, unlike most groups, I'm going to actually expect you to do some moderating. I mean deleting inappropriate comments, letting me know if people need to be banned, making sure that the conversation does not get derailed, issuing warnings, etc. If you're not up to the task, then please let me know. But I'd rather have you as a mod, because I know you're reliable.
I'm up for it. Care to critique this design while you're around?
A little background info - this was, for the most part, actually developed -before- Grand Cannon, and acts as something of an intermediate step between it and the earlier Pheora. It was, however, always intended to be the next-gen hero unit. Afterward, I adapted the new leg motif I developed during Grand Cannon's creation and made some other customizations. I have a great deal more in store in the near future - if you've been reading all the other articles, you'll have some idea of what's coming from me next.
