About this creation
I got a gander at some of the new Space Police stuff the other night after cyber-stalking the Brothers Brick and I realized two things: 1. the designers used a reverse and de-wheeled three wheeler to make at least one of the sky cycles. 2. There most likely won’t be much in the way of civilian personal craft in this line.
Who are the Space Police going to protect? How will those folks get around? While there may end up being some really cool personal skycycles coming out in the set, these are what will be flying around Brickton in the very near future.
Up first is the attempt at copyright infringement gone wrong. I really was trying to replicate the one in set 5970 Freeze Ray Frenzy. I knew I was missing a step somewhere, or simply didn’t’ have the right part(s) to do it properly. So I went the John Q. Spacepublic route and BOOM BABY! I was on my way.
The Blue Blaster (copyright pending) was assembled over the course of watching the Adam Sandler film Bedtime Stories this afternoon. I “finished” it three or four times over the course of the film (which I enjoyed, if you must know, and I really don’t give a crap if you liked it or not so shut up about it and keep reading this post – that means you, Phipson!).
The BB is the most delicate of the three and I’ll be danged if I didn’t drop her and lose one of my rocket fins/exhausts in the process. I’m sure it’ll show up in 20 years when we move out of this place to retire to scenic Turd Hill, Indiana. This is also my favorite of the three and I may revamp her for weaponry just to keep you trigger happy young ‘uns satisfied.
Our final entry in this exercise of self-adoration is my personal chariot to Brickworld. I just wanted to make something with orange in it, is that so wrong? This is sort of a skycycle chopper, and I’d love to have the Teutuls from Orange County Choppers build one of these for real. [Full disclosure: I do not own nor do I ride motorcycles – I’m too accident prone.]
Ok, no storyline for this one either, but I had fun building these and may do a few more for Brickworld. Might even have to build a structure to park ‘em in front of too. We’ll see. I’ve still got four other builds to do and time’s a wastin’ so I better get on it.
Of course, feel free to build your own skycycle if you get the itch – just do a better job than me, ya hear? Now then, I'm off to Brickworld! See ya, suckers!
Funny Lee should mention those colors being as that was what Dennis was wearing in those pics he posted on that "other" site last week. I won't get into details but let's just say it didn't leave much to the imagination. You'd be surprised what trans red looks like under black light after Dennis has been wearing it *shivers*. Oh yeah, Sweet cycles Dennis! Can't wait to swoosh em at Brickworld! Just leave your transred outfit at home this time. ~ Chris.
