The Blue Meany
A mini fighter named after some characters from Yellow Submarine.
About this creation
I've been a Beatles fan since before most of you were even born, so I'm paying tribute to John, Paul, George, and Ringo by naming this mini-fighter after the bad guys in the Yellow Submarine movie.

This was a fun build, but I would be remiss if I didn't thank Space Pirate for giving me permission to use his cockpit design. Since huge SHIPs aren't my thing, this cockpit design was just what I needed to get my space on.

Now then, let's take a look at the ship:

Why Blue Meany? Look at the armaments -- this is one mean machine! Ion cannons, phase blasters, maybe even a water pistol. I really wanted to go over the top when I fitted out her armaments -- I even thought about adding a small tachyon bomb! The space pirates use these "pocket fighters" for quick sorties when United Planet freighters operate in the backwaters of the galaxy. (See White Lightning for more on the space pirates and United Planets backstory.)

Ok, this part is what I'm really proud of. I finally did something I've wanted to try for a long time -- use a Lego garbage can as the exhaust for an engine. While there are probably plenty of people out there who've done something similar, and it's not the most sophisticated looking engine, IT'S MINE. I did it without looking anywhere for inspiration. Yeah, big whoop, I made an engine. But I like it.

Again, thanks to Space Pirate for urging me to give the mini-fighter a go. Keep your eyes open, the Red Baron is coming!

you're welcome ;) and WOW, as everybody before said, that engine design is really cool ;) Thanks for the link up there ^^ I'm glad you built this fighter, so making instructions wasn't senseless in the end ;) And what I like is that, though you used that cockpit frame (with some minor mods), it looks like something completely different...or unique...great work :) oh and I think the wingtip guns work well ;) so now...have you caught the fever? :D

I like that angled canopy and the quad nose guns are awesome, but the wingtip guns don't really fit with the rest of the model; it would work better if you left them off. Other than that, nice work, especially on that engine.

Blue Meany? Red Baron? who's next? The Green Grocier? Sweet little ship here Dennis. I love what you did with that engine. You're really putting together a lot of cool little mocs for your BrickWorld display. ~ Chris.
