Based on a sort of alternate-universe falcon redux kinda thing. About the same size, but far less likely to successfully navigate certain exhaust ports in the death star... :)
About this creation
Photo above is the sloped hallway to the main piloting station. featuring one custom R4-G9 Astromech. heheh. More on that in another post.
So it started with only barely surpressed desire for the UCS Millennium falcon. Felt like doing an insane build, but I just couldn't fathom dropping 5 bills on something I didn't design. Realized I had this other modular ship I had just finished (preview soon to be released) and I started thinking about ways that the function of a freighter could be modified just as easily. drop on a command center/viewport module, and kabam, mobile command center. Extra freight pods, and you have a nice hauler.
Birds-eye view showing one layout. On the left is a piloting pod with gunnery stations, far right an additional sub-light engine module. Both right and left pods could be combined to form a light shuttle.
Close up on the far right engine module and airlock. it's based on a pass-through, so another module farther on could be added on even farther to the right. can't get enough of modular.
Fully retractable landing gear. All three are interconnected and drop together. I've not yet incorporated a motor into the works, but I'm pretty sure the XL would be strong enough to (very slowly)lift the whole arrangement. The gears themselves might loose a tooth or two though :)
Landing gear fully extended. When it's up it drops the whole arrangement by almost a full two inches. doesn't sound like much, but in this scale, every millimeter counts.
Freighter pod and the command module in the background. command module is elevated due to the slightly sloping hallway.
Close up on the elevated hallway with an action shot of the R4-G9 custom astromech. light was getting pretty bad by the time I got to this point, so the shots start to get a bit grainy. been waiting for sunlight for days, but it just won't happen. Close up on the angle mechanism for making the hallway later.
Just a medium shot to try to give an idea of scale.
Birds-eye view with the real modules that belong on here... Far right is very heavily windowed command module (part of what started this whole thing) and on the left is the pilot station and rear gunner port. I'll post info on those in another page, as currently they belong to another modular ship, the engine port of which is just off on the bottom left corner of the screen.

Top down with the front section disconnected... it's designed to be taken off by popping the red pins in the second detail shot and sliding the front one stud to the left. for now, that's about it. I expect to get a fair bit done on this pretty soon here. Already have engines about 2/3 done and a bit of the external shell ready to go, but just not ready to fit it together just yet
I do hope you enjoy. Promise better lighting next round of photos.
