Pebbleburg 1300AD
Its a few years now since the new folk from over the seas came to live at Pebbleburg. The town has declined following the departure of the Romans and is much smaller. The centre of town has moved further away from the old Roman Forum to higher and dryer ground. The buildings have also changed and are built from timber frames which are infilled with wattle and dorb. St Peters was built in the early 700’s and still sits on the main road to Lundenburg.
About this creation

The main road to Lundenburg is Pebbleburg’s busiest street with St Peters on the north side and the market just a short walk over the cross roads.

In Typical style of the era the buildings were close to each other, through this aisle way we can see St Peters bell tower.

Here we look down the road from Colne ceaster in the north, the road continues onto towards the harbor.

One of the local farmers is bringing his cattle to the market as he walks past St Andrews and the bakers opposite the church.

The pub opposite the church, gives the men of the town a opportunity to have a break from their hard work and share a moan or two about live at home.

Meanwhile their wives are having a good old chin wag about their husbands whilst on the way to the market.....

Pebbleburgs market gives the locals an opportunity to buy some food from some of the local villages and get a new pot for cooking.

The chicken are allowed in the church gardens as long as they don’t disturb the graves!

One of the older folks in the town has a rest by the new oak while making his way to the market.

The Queen Caterin is visiting town today accompanied by her guards. Meanwhile an old beggar attends St Peters again to talk to the Lord about his bad back

My main build in this MOC is the building on the cross roads. Inspired when I went through Ipswich earlier this year and by Aliencats ‘Mindcorp Building’. I have used the timber building in Ipswich of off St Margrets Street overall shape and style with a few tweaks to suit. This building in Pebbleburg has a bakers and a pub

My secondary model was St Peters. This church is loosely based on St Andrews in Greenstead, a few miles North of London. The real building is the oldest wooden church in the world and has had a brick chancel (1500’s) which I have not included.
