This is my first attempt at recreating 'Ship' from the CGI Series ReBoot
About this creation
THE REAL THING IN ACTION
ABOUT THIS MOC
This is my first attempt at a larger project. I've chosen 'Ship' from the CGI series ReBoot (mainly due to the fact that it's my favorite show and I'm doing a full set of season three mini-figs... coming soon)
There were various criteria I wanted to fulfill when building this MOC. The first and most obvious, it HAD to look like the original. I wanted it big enough to fit three mini-figs. Plus additions used in the series and importantly I had to be able to pick it up by the engines, midsection or cockpit and not have it fall apart or shatter under it's own weight, being 18" from nose to engine it was a tough job.
...and finally (and this was last minute) I wanted it as SNOTty as hell. A few liberties have been taken in the design which was done to accomodate the back wings which are actually angled downwards and it's MUCH smaller in the mid section on the real CGI version.
As you no doubt noticed if you watch the video there are more monitors and keyboards in the real 'Ship' but try as I might, three monitors and two keyboards were the max I could safely manage because of the lame cockpit shape it will not close if I start playing adding to it. Stupid old Jango Fett!!!
The section between the engines is an addition as I really didn't fancy cutting into that lovely set of wings... that's not to say I wasn't tempted. On a side note, if you hold it at the join on the top support bar... it is perfectly balanced between front and back... weird.
This is the platform used for roping tears as my decal-less Prime Guardian Turbo is demonstrating. There is also a Firewall dispenser in the pipeline for the upper center support bar which I'll post later.
Love it! Right off the bat when I saw that you were attempting Mouse's ship, I thought, did he try to do the platform for roping tares? And you did. I got to see the firewall buoy dispenser. And, where is Mouse? Idea for your next Reboot MOC --> A viral ABC.
