Westwood Train Layout 1.0 (June 2009)
After some seven months of off-and-on construction (December 2008 to June 2009), HERE IT IS! Westwood City (formerly Legoville IX) is undoubtedly the largest and most ambitious Lego creation that I have ever undertaken. It features 45,000+ bricks and almost a quarter mile of scale main line.
About this creation
First, a hastily done schematic of the layout. Special thanks to the designers of TrackDraw...

Actual Facts in Brief (Version 1.0):

Total Number of Bricks: 47,500 (Estimate)
Total Number of Construction Hours: 350-400 total
Total Number of Minifigs: 128 (as of January 2010)
Total Number of Buildings: 24
Oldest Building: The Roundhouse (Early 2004)
Newest Building: Legoville Cinema (Late 2009)

Completion Date: June 26, 2009
Demolition Date: N/A

Fun (and Fictitious) Facts about Westwood City:

Year Founded: 1909
Year Incorporated: 1928
Population: 2,578 (2010 Census)
2009 Economic Growth Rate: 4.7%
Per Capita Income: $24,878 USD (2000 Census)
City Limits Area: 0.78 sq. miles.

Here is a view of the town from the North. As you can see, Westwood has only one gas station: an Octan Petroleum property that was renovated in the early 2000's (it was actually built in late 2007).

Here is a street-level view of the intersection of Upshaw and Toozak Roads. This road is located in the northern part of the town.

This is a view down Stabler Avenue. This road is in the center of town and ends in front of the Town Hall.

Every part of this is beatiful, the medow, the white and red buildings, all have that awesome quality that make them just look great. I think the next thing that this town should have is a hotel. ~T

This is amazing. Hands down the best personal city/train layout I've ever seen. The meadows, the bridge, the buildings, the history, its all excellent! I hope to someday have a town even half this size.

Nice train layout. Words really can't do justice. You really do have the best looking meadows I's seen.

This is so nice! Very detailed and realistic. My favorite parts are the lively displayed streets, the pic showing the train track right in people´s backyard (which seems very American to me - I have seen tracks like that there) and then the display of trains in the huge meadows you were able to make. That just makes it look a million times better and more realistic. Awesome! Best regards, Steffen

Great work! This has really come a long way and I love the level of detail that you have managed to achieve. The meadow with all of the flower stems is wonderful! Congratulations on a great layout and keep adding to it!

Beautiful scene, I could have sworn I saw something like it at Brickworld. All of the details are wonderful. With all of the work you put into this, it was well worth it. Great job! -Dylan
