My first MOC!!! Enjoy it!!! :)
About this creation
I consider this as my first real model. I must say, that I got very much inspired from Anders Gaasedal. When I first found his four trucks, I new, I will build at least one of my own. And here it is. It took about a month for me to build it, starting with creating model in SR 3D Builder and finishing with last part added.

As you can see, it was made to be in orange, but I wasn't able to get all needed parts in orange or actually any other (wanted) colour than white. So, let it be white!

During the building some constructions changed, as the program have no "weight". But basically the model is the same. It is 24 studs whide, 63 studs long, 35 brick units heigh and about 4 kg heavy (by "brick unit" I meen the height of one normal LEGO brick)

Most difficult part was to build chassis, wich could support THIS heavy model. Also, it has quite a big distance from side details to chassis, so I had to leade that weight somehow to the chassis.
And I think I did it quite successfull :)

So when this problem was solved, the rest was easy - just needed to find right bricks to get the right shape.

For Reanult Magnum it is not very hard because its cabin looks much like box with few cornerings. I guess this was the reason why I chose exactly this model - I wanted to learn - what else problems you can face while building this large and heavy model.

OK. Enough of bla bla bla, let's see, what else besides nice cabin and strong chassis it has!

Back wheels with differential

I don't know what all the real life truck parts are for. I just googled as much images as possible and tried to represent them in LEGO

Doors - of course - openable :)

Something else (don't know, how to name it) openable

I guess it's instrument box below that grill...

.. openable

Interrior - behind the seets there is place for resting

And lowerable "bed" for other driver. At the back/top of the cabin there are openable shelf in each side of cabin

And two openable shelves at the front of the cabin

Cabin can be turned-down

Fire extinguishers below the cabin, I guess, just in case when repairing

When the cabin is turned-down, the V6 engine can be seen. It is actually working (has pistons, radiator propeller and other things, which I don't know) and it gears back wheels.

In case you didn't notice, front lights - as similar to the real truck as it is possible
So! That's all for this one. Already building other one with SR 3D Builder. It is kind of chalange for me, but I wont show anything 'till I'm done. Ou, and don't ask me building instructions becouse the real model is a bit different

Nice one :-)
I still have a similar model but yours is quite different from mine. I saw you made the front cab edges round. That's one of the reasons you couldn't built it in orange. I know this particular truck from the inside to the outside and I see every detail which should be there.

Hi Roland! Although this one must be huge it is astonishing how you squeezed all the details and functionality in YOC (your own creation). I mean, most moccers focus on only one thing, either technic (steering, suspension etc.) or "cosiness & comfort" (like openable glovebox, detailed sleeper etc.). You managed to get both sides in one creation - Congrats! Best wishes & thanks for your comment, Jens |
