About this creation

She knew she shouldn't have come, her cover could be blown this way, but she couldn't resist the call of the doughnuts. It had started this morning on her day off when her buddies at the station called her and asked her if she would like to go out and buy a couple dozen. At first she had refused, it was her day off she had said, but she couldn't help it, the thought of those warm, fragrant fried rings of batter beckoned seductively. Her co-workers had swung by her house in their car and picked her up, and now as she walked up to the counter she saw him.

Her heart began to pound furiously as he looked at her.
“May I help you?” He asked, no trace of warmth in his voice. She nearly melted at the sound, his deep voice filling her mind. She recalled the first time she had seen his noble-looking face, she had been working undercover trying to catch the Society of Wizards in the act of slipping drugs into their potions and had spied him sneaking down a side passage, his cape billowing out behind him. She had fallen in love with him on the spot and as she had continued her investigation she watched him closely at every opportunity. Over time she began to realize that he was a first class jerk, constantly belittling the other wizards, treating everyone beneath him with contempt. But he was so commanding when he did it! The way he stormed about grandly, boldly asserting his dominance over his inferiors was irrisistable... She had observed his every move, including his purchase of a new Jaguar, a designer suit, and remodeling his kitchen (which he would never even use); racking up enormous bills and living in absolute lavishness He had been forced to work part-time at the Manku-Dunkah! coffee and doughnut shop downtown to pay off his recently acquired luxuries. And then there was his name: Bimblechook. She loved the sound of it, although she would just call him 'Bimble' for short...

And now she was here, potentially risking the whole assignment. Sure, she wasn't in uniform, but she didn't like how familiar her friends were acting in front of him. Surely he would notice that she was completely surrounded by police officers, and that they all seemed to know her, she fervently wished they were a thousand miles away. But even now, looking into his dark eyes, her fears took a back seat to the emotions racing through her mind. He opened his mouth to speak to her.
“I have something to tell you-”

She nearly exploded at that moment, torn in two between fear and anticipation. Would he return her feelings for him? Would he recognize her? Would she be discovered? She leaned forwards, straining to hear every syllable as if the world hung upon a thread, and his words could snap that fragile cord and send everything into oblivion. All of this raced through her mind before he could finish his sentence, but, seeming to take an eternity, the rest of the words tumbled from his lips:

“We've just ran out of doughnuts.”
