The SF-114 "Fire Ant"
A new force is on the rise and threatens to throw the Lego world into chaos…they are The Battle Bugs! My battle bug is built to be a literal interpretation of the Fire Ant. The SF-114's front mounted flamethrower can operate using either napalm , for anti-infantry purposes, or to use thermite against vehicles or other heavily armored targets. They also carry 30 robotic suicide drones that are designed to swarm onto an opposing mech and destroy it from within. Battle Bugs will be a new theme at Brickcon09 and is founded by Mark Neumann, a formidable mech builder, Jason Ruff, a talented spaceship builder from Portland and Lino M. The ultimate bug war will take place at Brickcon09 and the Battle Bug Commanders need your help to populate the battlefield! Big bugs are heavily armored and well gunned, but smaller bugs are stealthy and cunning. Which will you build? Trophies will be given at Brickcon09 for some of the best bugs on the battlefield. For those who can’t make Brickcon, you can also join our Battle Bugs group. The fate of the bug world hangs in the balance and we need your help to make this a truly phenomenal new category. Seek the Battle Bug Commanders for any questions and comments you may have. (The theme description was taken from Lino's Rhinoceros Beetle)
About this creation

Side shot of this beast

I would love to pilot this thing, I mean just wandering around burning anything I wanted to. That would be fun.

The jaws are really just for show,I spose they could be used for something though.....

Whoa, I love this shot. Although I suppose piloting this could get tedious after a while.

After a while I began to despise that abdomen, because no matter what I did it never would stay in the right place.

This is kind of nasty, if you think about it, I mean hundreds of little ants coming out of holes in the sides of a giant ant 0_o

He seems like he enjoys his job. Lucky barstool.....

Here we see young Johny and Susy, they seem to have stumbled upon an ant hill. Now they attempt to burn the ant with their magnifying glass.

Unfortunately for them they never looked behind them. Oh what delicious irony.

So remember kids, if you see an ant, don't try to squish it, or you might be squished yourself.

Wow,first comment! Anyways this moc is very awsome. You´ve really captured the look of an ant and made it infinitly cooler. And with this moc you introduce a new, inovative, fun theme. Sadly I don´t think i will participate in the bug buildning, but I will try for a bit. Great moc.
