Original design. Improvements continually made to the original Jedi Starfighter design were applied during the years of the Clone Wars. Equipped with hyperdrive and complex computers, doing away with the need for astromechs, which were soon discovered to be invaluable companions and co-pilots in battle. This design was scrapped after a couple months of prototype testing when the first Y-wing and Z-95 Headhunter schematics were developed.

According to the StarWars.com databank entry for the ship, it's Aethersprite. If you can show me a more official source than that, I'll change is ASAP :) Thanks for the kind words, though! I am currently working on a 2nd-generation JSF, utilizing techniques I'd adopted since Jaunary when I built this one. I personally find this model lacking in certain respects, but it was very fun to build and photograph with the original JSF.
The unique pilot/cockpit loading design was an inspiration by Republic techs. However, when the supposedly solid seal broke in strenuous combat situations and pilots ended up EV, the design was tossed.
Nice Jedi Starfighter! I do agree with jedi Kyle about blowing off astromechs but the ship is totaly awesome! Even though it is a bit smaller than The regular one I like yours better (especially the engines). Great job Ryan and keep up the good work!
