I'm very excited to announce that my first children's book is now available for sale! Alongside my other projects, I've been working on it for over 2 years.
"Cool Cars and Trucks" is a 32 page picture book for younger kids. Some of the models in the book you've seen here on MOCpages, but many them have never been seen before. :) All in all, there are over 50 cars & trucks, and instructions for a few of them. I tried to design most of the models using parts that you'll likely already have at home. (We can't all just buy whatever we want on Bricklink, now can we?) :)
Here's a video of me (bah, with a really dumb still frame) talking about the book...
great book i wish i could get it mabe ask my mum to get me this book. (is this book avaibile in new zeland)im a lego fan and car fanatic i would like to work for lego but i want to be a car mechanic when i grow up but lego could be a hobby for me.
As per mentioned before, I finally got my hands on your book during a quick library visit. I'll go ahead and give you a little review here. I noticed that the text in the book is geared for younger builders, but a good majority of the builds were not. I could see smaller children enjoying looking at the photos while older children (9+) maybe trying to attempt some of the more advance builds without instructions. I really like the fact that you started with a simple basis design with instructions and then showed pics of different models made from using the same basis. This would allow children to not only read and build, but also get their creative processes going as they think about how to create designs out of the basis. I enjoyed how it was not an instruction manual, but sets the fundamentals of learning for younger kids. Overall the book is a win, great work. -Dylan

I just got that book 2 weeks ago but do to the fact I have not purchesed any leg city since 1998 I didn't have the parts for any of the cars
but once I start up brick link then I will make them
I think it is great being a certified Lego builder, and then going and doing something like this so that children can learn to expand their creative nature. We need this more and more as we progress into the future and people like you are helping "build" the path for our future generations. Thanks!
It sounds great! I would love to buy one but sadly I live in the Netherlands... Still, I think it is a great idea. To make a book to not just let kids build, but also inspire them and let them make their own models. great idea wich lego is forgeting more and more... So... Please make it available for the rest of the world! And I'd love to see more books of you, like cool buildings and houses ;) good luck!
Well Sean, I got 1 thing to say and 1 thing only: I can't wait until this book comes out. Also, could you check out my creations?

Sean I'm very happy for your new book that came out and I just wanted to let you know that you really like to put things to the extreme, and your creativity in mind is amazing. I look up to you Sean, I really do. Being a Lego Certified Professional has been my dream job ever since I was 6, and I'm 14 now. Well I just wanted to congratulate you on all the work you've done so far, such as MOCpages, a place were every Lego creator can share there very own creations. Once again. Thank you Sean :). -Pedro
Now this is something I MUST get for my Cousin who likes lego but doesn't seem to have the pieces. Sadly, I live all the way in Australia. Nice video, practical SUV and a very good book!

Very nice Sean, sounds like a great idea.
You know, maybe it would be a good idea to make all differant levels of the book Teens adults etc
I've only seen the main picture, and I feel cooler already. Good job and congrats! If I happen to stop by a local bookstore soon, I'll be sure to read it in the store, that is if I can find a way to ditch the rest of my friends! -Dylan
Congrats Sean! I may be out of the age group, but that wont stop me from finding new cars to build :) If you ask me $13 for 50 pages worth of cool car stuff is a great bargin. Funny, I just noticed I live on the other edge of Seans state...
...huh what? I tried listening to the video, but the endless rows of Lego bins kinda distraced me... Hopefully if I have the time (and the money) I'll pick up this book! I might not post the vehicles, though; they're not MOCs, they're YOCs :P
Great to hear it's out there on the shelves now. (Let's hope they're not there for long!) I'm looking forward to your sequels, too...like "Cooking with Lego" and "MOCing for Dummies."
Looks like an interesting book, and only 13$. Maybe I will give it a go. Anyway, you are literally involved with the LEGO Company. I have asked for help to Keith Goldman and still waiting for a response. It has been my dream to work for the LEGO Group, and I wish you could help me out with that: tell me what I can do, and before you say it, I know I would have to move to Denmark since the group is based there.
Awesome! Only TEN of you in the world? :O
WOW! I really like the SUV design that you made that's universal. I'm not sure what my favorite brick is, but the headlight brick is pretty wicked. :D
I subscribed to you on youtube. I'm PIVOTLEGO. Check out my videos if you want. But I doubt you will because your a pretty busy guy. Anyway, I think I might get that book. Thanks for posting!
I should buy my soon to be born baby cousin this. But he will have to wait to build for 3 years but until then he will have to settle for duplo :) I will be buying him duplo, You all can count on that. Sorry I rambled !
Wow Mr. Sean. I thought that all you did was sculptures. But now I just got Punk'd, if you know what I mean. Maybe I might become a certified LEGO designer. But being a LEGO designer has been my dream since I was about 5. Good luck Mr. Sean.
Sean, that is brilliant, truly. I would like to have one for my kids for sure! Really nice effort!
Still.. i am jealous that none of my trucks is featured... i mean with 7000 bricks you can have you're kid occupied 3 years. :-)
