Mercedes-Benz 200, w123
This is my second Lego Project the most Mercedes-Benz of all the W123 series. I will create all types finally.
About this creation
After my first attempt of the Rietveld chair and after a lot of browsing on Mocpages I start this new project a Mercedes-Benz my favorit mark. And I am the lucky guy owning one as well.

The model will be in white because the engineers in Stuttgart designed it in white as well. So the design is at its best in this color.
Below the pictures of my first attempt. It is just the bodywork. As you can see I did order some wrong part so had to replace them with blue ones.

The back of the car fits very well. Especially the light compartment took a few itterations before I was satisfied. Now I need to redo the bumpers because they are to thick.
Besides I need to replace the Tan parts. I found a new solution. Further more I need to have a second look at the roof. I tried to bring some curve in the roof both vertically and horizontally but that didn't work out very wel.

The headlights need some attention. Actually now I see the moc in real i.s.o. in LDD the whole front needs adjustment. So that will be my next round of iterations.
All together I am proud about the first results. Next steps will be adding the interior and finally the engine and the spare wheel in the back.

Finally I will at some technical stuff like a driveline and steering. So more to come!

VERY nice ! Look like a similar building style to myself - except that you've used nicer parts :) Great model, very realistic and accurate, one of my favourite cars I've seen on the site so far :) -Dan

I know how hard it is to make that big monster perfect, truct me! Later, when you'll start adding guts, you'll have to think of stiffness too. But this one looks quite strong and the shape turns out just right.

I've been meaning to do something myself like this for a long time, but I have such a nice real 83 300D I enjoy that better :-) Obviously it takes a LOT of time and redesigning to get the whole design correct. At the small scale I worked in (1:22) with my w123 models I had to redesign several times. I would imagine yours would take more than that. Can't wait to see this model finally finished. I hope your model includes fully independent suspension and steering setup with a semi working interior (and sunroof maybe?). Cheers!
