Microscale buildings are fun, but my definition of micro changes sometimes
About this creation
So for my latest animation I had to build a lot of microscale buildings to knock over like dominoes. I built these wildly out of order, but I'm going to talk about them from the smallest to the largest. Except I kept changing the "micro" scale I was building at...
So the smallest ones are also the most unoriginal. They are micro versions of Green Grocer and the movie theater and town hall from Town Plan.
Then I built a few more buildings roughly at the same size and level of detail. My favorite of these is the Popsicle Palace.
Here's all of the building at this scale lined up, with a couple cars and the crane thrown in too.
Now imagine that the big menacing black building from the last batch is now that tiny little black building all the way on the left here. See how I switched up the scales on you?
These building are probably the blandest of the batch. I don't even know what the white and brown one is supposed to be. I made it using some left overs from the pirate building set after I built an awesome totem pole (see below).
These are probably the weirdest and least building like. I love the green samurai building the most.
This is where pick-a-brick starts to take over my buildings.
Pow! Changed scales again. The tan rectangular building is half the size it was at the other scale. The grey building is my fave from this group.
These last two are so big I'm not going to bother trying to fit them in the same pic.
Alright, so you've been keeping track of the scale changes right? So how much bigger is this pink building than the Green Grocer? ;)
Here's the totem pole I mentioned before. I have no idea what size this is supposed to be in relation to the rest, but it was a cool alternate build from the pirate building set and so it was part of the domino chain.
And then I put them all together, even if the scales don't match, because it's pretty.
