The #USA995 is to this day pictured in an Army text book on rolling stock maitainance with the caption "Typical Caboose" This caboose is anything but typical. It was built in the late 50's by the soldiers of the 763rd Rail Battalion out of a base taken from a 36-foot box car. It features both bay windows and a cupola. "Typically" a caboose would have one or the other, but not both. The 995 was retired in 1972 and now resides in the U.S. Army Transportation Museum at Ft. Eustis VA.
