Revamp: Set 8989 Mata Nui
Because I found the set...dissapointing.
About this creation
Set 8989(Mata Nui) wasn't a bad set, Mocwise. I mean, tonnes of snazzy yellow pieces, including those interesting shoulder pieces...what more could you want? But I found it dissapointing that this was the Mata Nui set I've been waiting for since I got the original Makuta Teridax set from back in the day. So I rebuilt him! Although not in his almighty godly form, I haven't got enough pieces for that....yet.

Anyways, on to the Moc!

Just your average pose, nothin' special...

The back! As you can see, I've been experimenting with torso designs again. It's pretty much the same as this one, only less complicated. The shoulders are a bit wierd, and the weight of the arms pulls the two glatorian necks used for the arm sockets down, making his shoulders look droopy. But there's always room for improvment. Oh, I also gave him "Steel cheeks", if you catch my drift. =D

I really had no idea how (or I was too lazy) to make a better shield, so I gave him a sword. I guess it would be called a Scarabax sword...

Thornax launcher...for launching explosing fruit. Moving on...

His chest. I gave him one of those lights that bionicles used to have in the movies, like when Lihkan died and his light went out. Just for the heck of it.

His shoulder armour. I thought I should add some more armour underneath those scarab pieces, because just imagine:
You're in a fight and someone swings at your arm. Rather than actually helping, those pieces would catch the enemies blade and glance it towards your shoulders. Ouch!
So I added some armour underneath.

Awesome, the sliver goes well with the "snazzy" yellow! I would like to invite you to enter in my Bionicle Farewell contest, in Makuta's sons group. Check it out:

I have to admit...I found the set to be too....small. He looked way to weak for who he's supposed to be, although yes he was stripped of his great powers. My favorite upgrade you did was the extension on the legs! He looks way more like he should have in the set here...

I really like the color scheme. I like the sword, not something complex, but creative.

His arms look a lot more powerful, but the chest leaves something to be desired.

It is indeed a nice revamp, yet I feel the chest could be improved. Can you send me the HTML you used for that slideshow on your homepage? You can paste it in ArcheoGenis group's General onversation...

Yes why not indeed. Thank you for always commenting on my stuff. I still don't understand Bionicle, but I can tell this is a good build.

Its nice. thats a fact. I think that the tip of the "scarabax sword" should be the other way round. if that doesn't work, I understand.
