The famous DeLorean time machine from the film trilogy Back to the Future.
The DeLorean time machine was created by Doctor Emmet Brown in 1985, using plutonium stolen from Libyan terrorists. The key componment to time travel is the flux capacitor, which would be activated when the vehicle reached 88mph. Unfortunately, the Libyans found out about the plutonium, and they murdered Doc.
While attempting to escape in the DeLorean, Doc's friend Marty McFly sent himself back to November 5th 1955, the day that Doc envisioned the time machine. After altering his own timeline (and eventually fixing it) Marty was sent back to '85 on November 12th, using the power of a lightning strike to give the DeLorean the neccessary 1.21 gigawatts needed to power the flux capacitor.
In the second film, Doc added a hover conversion to the DeLorean in 2015, allowing it to fly. In this film, the old Biff Tannen stole the car and managed to create a parallel universe.
At the end of the third film, the DeLorean was destroyed by a train, to Doc's wishes. However Doc created a "Time Train" using parts from 1885.
Front view. The characters costumes are based on the Twin Pines Mall scene from the first movie. Marty has a video camera, Doc has the remote control, and Doc's dog Einstein is keeping them company ;)
Closer view of the characters, and another view of the DeLorean. My version doesn't have gullwing doors, so normal doors will have to do.
Back view. See the flame trails, vents and other assorted stuff on the back. Note that absence of the "OUTATIME" liciense plate, but this is LDD, after all.
Thanks for looking, please comment!
NOTE: The downloadable DeLorean is slightly different to the one seen here (it has gullwings now!). Buy it from LEGO. com!
